Rose wine gum
Joop is once again launching a wine gum, as I like to affectionately call them. First of all, I think it's another great success if you like the typical Joop Homme DNA. What are you getting into? In short, sweet synthetics.
The wine gum series is already available in the flavors cherry in the form of
Joop! Homme Eau de Toilette, overripe pineapple as
Joop! Homme Wild nut as
Joop! Homme Eau de Parfum and praline as
Joop! Homme Le Parfum. The rose fits in very well with this one. The progression remains linear.
After the first test, the H|S is a close 7. Further tests will show.
The only thing I find a little expensive for a Joop is the price, but it will certainly become cheaper over time.
Conclusion: I'm curious to see when the orange, blackcurrant and lemon flavors will come. A pleasing, youthful fragrance that is sure to find its fans.

My feel-good fragrance
My number one when it comes to relaxation. No other fragrance manages to bring me down and give me inner peace like this. This blend of tobacco, leather, patchouly and rum hits my nerve. One spray and I teleport myself to a pub in Cuba with a cigar in one hand and a glass of fine rum in the other and chill out on the leather couch. Salsa blares from the jukebox in the background and I soak up the serene existence and the atmosphere of joie de vivre. You should know that it is also animalistic in the opening, which I also celebrate. However, this passes after a few minutes and what remains is the Cuban vacation, so don't be intimidated.
It's not a loud scent and it's not a I need compliments scent. It's just there and says "stay relaxed amigo" and that's exactly what I do. The longevity is around 8 hours with slightly above average moderate sillage. Just enough to attract fleeting glances.
Conclusion: Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but exactly what I need and what does me good.

Brutal
Fresh laundry fragrances are becoming increasingly popular at the moment. This one is one of the strongest representatives I know, but let's start at the beginning.
Hyped by countless videos, I absolutely had to test it. No sooner said than done, I went to my trusted little niche perfumery. It opens clearly fresh and woody. While the woody notes play an important role for the first few hours, they gradually fade into the background and the freshness dominates. It already has a clear synthetic quality and you can imagine it like fresh laundry with a good dose of fabric softener.
Now for the interesting part that makes the fragrance unique. The smell is nice but not revolutionary, BUT the longevity and sillage are brutal. After more than 12 hours, I could still clearly smell it on my arm. Even when I went to shower the next morning it was still there. I purposely didn't wash my shirt to see how long it would last and 3 days later I could still smell it from about half a meter when I walked by. H|S is a 15/10.
Verdict: I don't say this often, but I haven't bought it yet because my honest concern is that it's too intense for me. Unbeatable for the price.

Oud with a difference
I had actually sworn to myself that I would stop at 60 bottles. As you know, the unexpected often happens. I received a sample of
Oud Imperial Eau de Parfum from a nice Parfumo to test and didn't think much of it, as I already had enough oud fragrances in my collection. Wow was I wrong.
Definitely not an 0815 oud fragrance, extremely unobtrusive and very creamy. There is also a strong patchouly. For me, the embodiment of niche. Both notes are in perfect harmony and are its main feature. Gradually, a spicy smokiness is added. It is also important to mention that there is a slight hint of bezinn. You have to like this to love the fragrance. For me, it is so good that I even bought a backup.
I can only say that the longevity and sillage are both above average. At around 9 hours and one meter, it has a lot of power. Towards the end it becomes a little more intimate.
Conclusion: I have never smelled such an underrated fragrance, which proves that tastes are different and that you should not pay too much attention to ratings, but that every fragrance is worth testing for yourself.

A different kind of summer
Friends of fresh citrus fragrances watch out. I think this is the most masculine citrus fragrance I know. The light spiciness gives it that certain something and is almost a little earthy. I feel like I'm lying in the shade of a citrus tree in Sicily at the height of summer with pepper flowers growing all around me and the sea rushing beside me. Grapefruit and lemon come in at the opening, while the pink pepper makes the whole thing more interesting. Furthermore, floral notes give the fragrance more attention. Last but not least, the vetiver, oud and amber in the background provide depth.
I think it smells very high quality for the price and complements my summer collection very well.
I see its clear weakness in performance. With a maximum of 6 hours, I get a rather average longevity. Nevertheless, the quality makes up for some of the H|S. I'm curious to see whether it will continue to mature over time and perhaps project more strongly.
Conclusion: It has enough of a unique selling point to stand out from other citrus juices. I'm already looking forward to the summer and I'm curious to see what else the house will bring out in the future.
