This is such a beautiful floral, creamy, powdery creation. It is such a beautiful blend of notes, smells like lipstick. It is very elegant, very sophisticated and reminds me of few Guerlain creations. Simply put, it is quintessentially French!

Fidelis was a great discovery in Jovoy London.
It is a Fragheads heaven! They had all these rare perfumes spread over two levels. I was like a kid in a candy store but then quickly focussed on notes I liked. I love rose, I love tuberose but I also started to appreciate Amber in all its flavours, I said. I was shown different fragrances, which I liked to a certain extent but Fidelis was a love at first sniff. It was unusual, it was spicy -resinous, it had amber and coffee, it had rose and oud. It was all my favourite things rolled into one. The opening is spicy, however I cannot detect cumin and it doesn’t smell weird like some other cumin containing fragrances( looking at you Rose Hubris). It’s a deep cosy fragrance that was well suited for a rainy October day. However, now I wear it also at 36 C and it is just as beautiful. The lasting power is immense, the scent trail is incredible and the scent is unique and definitely gets noticed.

I have realised quickly into my fragrance journey that there are some houses whose style and offering I love, even if they offered a simple cologne. Carolina Herrera confidential line for me is a line that I can safely say I like everything they have. I haven’t disliked any perfume so far, but oh dear I have loved a few.
I find they are subtle, unique and beautiful.
Today I tried 4 from the line, 3 of which have become a love! Sandal Ruby stood out, after the spicy opening, it settled into a white flower fragrance, which fresh tuberose and maybe a hint of jasmine just slightly green! It’s just the right level of florals, sensual without being cloying. As I enjoyed my coffee, I continued to get whiffs of the tuberose, trying to place it somewhere..maybe closer to Diptyque Do Son..not quite as green as carnal flower. At this stage, it was nice flowery western fragrance. However, as it dried down it became a bit more Woody oriental and reminded me of burning rose from The same line. Do they share the same DNA like the famous Guerlinade?..the patchouli is sweet, I could’ve sworn it had amber even though it’s not listed. It didn’t seem like it had a huge trail, it’s subtle and felt more of skin scent , a beautiful skin scent May I add. I’m in love but as we all know how fickle the heart of a parfumista is... so who knows how long this love will last.

This to me is the best fresh perfume out there! I tried the fragrance as soon as it came out, I was living in Scotland where we had no summer and this little number was the closest thing I got to summer. It was sunshine in a bottle, it made me smile and think of hot summer days. It lasted forever on my scarf, and smelled more floral. I could smell the jasmine coming through and it’s heavenly on clothes. The lasting power is amazing, I can still smell it after 10 hours, still surrounding me like a little fragrance hoody, dominated by petit grain and lime! Would highly recommend for days when an injection of summer is needed.

I love Kilian fragrances, they are luxurious, beautiful and playful. I love the names, the themes but I have never ventured into testing them until recently. I am not an avant garde parfumista, I love fragrances that are mass pleasing! I fell in love with moonlight in heaven, good girl gone bad in addition to my all time favourite black phantom. As I went down the rabbit hole, I tried rolling in love. I went in decided that I am going to like this, it’s a pretty red bottle after all. In the boutique, it smelled pretty, feminine but cold. It was not warm as o expected rolling in love would feel. After the almond note, all I could smell is iris, cool creamy iris. The projection wasn’t massive either, again I expected being or rolling in love to be loud and in your face. Instead, it was a skin scent that didn’t seem to last long. On the blotter, it performed even worse. I got a sample and I tried it multiple times but I wasn’t impressed. However, few days later I revisited the scent by smelling the fragrance of a dear friend. It was day and night, it smelled a lot stronger. I could pick the scent pyramid, especially the vanilla dry down. I don’t get the tonka bean but I get a general sweet yummy skin scent without being cloying. It is understated sensuality and I love it!
