Vatican vibes
This is my first pure incense perfume. I chose this one instead of Unum from Lavs also because it was more affordable. And they smell almost the same.

Got to buy samples of both first because buying such beasts blindly is a big no-no.

Wasn’t disappointed at all. Performance above average. Plus it’s layering friendly which made me love it even more.

I Love the cathedral vibes. I Love frankincense and incense burning in general so the vibe is well-known. It’s like entering a cathedral during mass, I love it.

It’s calming, refreshing, elevating.

If you’re on a search for such vibes I’d suggest you to give this one a try. I don’t smell anything synthetic in it. Just pure frankincense. Wonderful

Cumin absolue
I had great expectations for this one since Ambre Saffrano is my preferred from the line and I thought I should try a new one.

I can’t stand Gris nor Rouge. For me, unbearable. Too sweet, two chaotic.

So, I got to test it on a paper stripe firstly since I didn’t want to do it right away on my skin.

Intoxicatingly cumin. The only ingredient I could smell within the first ten minutes. Somewhat nauseating…

Lets say I were in the kitchen and suddenly the cumin jar fell open over my head. That was the feeling. And I got sad because I really wanted it to work :/

I kept sniffing it and after half an hour I could smell the cardamom on top of the cumin. It doesn’t smell artificial but not pleasant rather overwhelmingly spicy and by that I mean the cumin-bomb effect on me.

Now after some hours it smells sweet and woody and I think I can recognize the musc and the synthetic ambroxan but absolutely nothing from tonka or sandalwood. Zero.

I am some disappointed. Perhaps I will still try on my skin but the clerk told me if it doesn’t catch me on the first paper strip sniff it’s not worth trying on skin. So ‍️

long lasting saffrony
The opening is dry and absolutely saffrony with a creamy somewhat honeyish amber.

I like it a lot!

After some minutes the dryness goes halfway away and it settles still honeyish-saffrony. It’s warm, embosoming and quite elegant.

I can’t follow the amount of negative reviews and especially the silly text rated as “in depth” with a bunch of nonsensical gibberish…

I’d even say if you’re female and enjoy rather masculine scents with spices, Amber and saffron as base that’s a safe buy.

I enjoy it a lot and it’s not too sweet nor gourmand, on the contrary, it‘s a very elegant and rich truly unisex scent. It’s got that sweet honeyish note somewhere in the background but it doesn’t stitch. The saffron doesn’t allow it.

I didn’t like Velvet Tonka from BDK, for me, nauseatingly sweet as I also dislike Kirke (a mess of unfathomable dimensions), Initio’s aphrodisiac (blergh), MFK Gentle fluidity gold (I like the silver tho!) and other candy-bombs that for me smell cheap by the way…

If you would enjoy an uncommon and dry creamy ambery saffrony fragrance in your collection, just get it. Actually the single scent I like from the House BDK.
