The Allrounder
In search of a new everyday fragrance for spring/summer, I ordered samples of
Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême and
Allure Homme Édition Blanche Eau de Parfum and compared both over the last few days.
The
Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême is, in my opinion, the most versatile fragrance in the Allure Sport line.
With the mandarin and mint, it opens beautifully citrusy and refreshing, slightly sweet, but not overly so. Great opening. The sage and pepper add a slight spiciness, while cedar and sandalwood provide a lovely woody note at the end. An absolutely strong allrounder!
Longevity is good, sillage in the first few minutes is almost a bit piercing, but then very good. It is a fragrance that appeals to both men and women equally, as it has a slightly soft masculinity to it. Well-groomed yet noticeable.
For me, the fragrance is almost too much on very hot summer days; I see it more suited for spring or a beautiful summer morning. For the evening, I would rather choose the "Allure Homme Édition Blanche (Eau de Parfum) | Chanel."

The Sweet Dessert
In search of a new everyday fragrance for spring/summer, I ordered samples of
Allure Homme Édition Blanche Eau de Parfum and
Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême and compared both over the last few days....
The
Allure Homme Édition Blanche Eau de Parfum opens with a wonderful citrusy, fresh, yet simultaneously soft and gentle note. Like a light lemon dessert in summer. Dreamily beautiful. Delicious.
Beautifully creamy fresh on the skin. Truly a great fragrance for warm days. After a while, the lemon fades a bit and gives way to the creamy, slightly woody part of the fragrance. Nevertheless, the lemon is still perceptible.
Sillage is very good for warm days. You are well noticed without being overwhelming. Unfortunately, the longevity is not quite as great as the fragrance itself... After 3-4 hours, the scent begins to blur, and I perceive the individual fragrance notes less and less, reminding me more of a pleasantly scented body lotion.
Still, a lovely fragrance for warm summer evenings. Furthermore, I find that this fragrance can also be worn by women (of course, depending on type and taste), but definitely possible for me :)

The first G&B, but not the last…
When I went to my local perfumery 4 weeks ago, I actually knew exactly what I wanted. It was going to be a new summer fragrance.
Through YouTube & research beforehand, I also had a favorite:
Malibù - Party in the Bay was going to be it.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have that,” the nice lady told me. I, a bit disappointed, still wanted to buy something today (maybe also because I had a 20% voucher that was only valid in April). So I looked around, and there I saw
Bohemian Lime sitting on the shelf.
A test spray and I had a concentrated dose of lime in my nose. Wow, something new. Slightly irritated but still curious. After 1-2 minutes, still very, very citrusy, very fresh… “Yeah, I’ll take it,” I thought to myself.
I applied it right on the first evening. Good scent, but was it worth the money?
After wearing it multiple times, I can say: for me, yes!
This lime just keeps exciting me more and more. The drydown is a dream. Great transition into the woody, slightly spicy, without losing the freshness. My summer fragrance for 2025! And definitely not my last Goldfield & Banks.
Today, samples of
Pacific Rock Moss,
Malibù - Party in the Bay &
Leisure in Paradise are on their way to me.
Fragrance-wise, it’s going to be a great summer!

My Entry into Niche Fragrances
Bois Impérial Eau de Parfum was my first non-designer fragrance in my collection and I am glad about it. I love this scent. There are only a few fragrances for which I have received more compliments than for this one. Whether from my wife, friends, my hairdresser, or strangers in a café. Sillage & longevity are therefore top-notch.
At first, it is fresh & green. Synthetic, yes, but in a good way. After that, it becomes a bit calmer, woodier. Without losing the freshness & spiciness.
I imagine I can smell Thai basil. Maybe because I have often been to Thailand in the last few years and my favorite dish also contains a lot of Thai basil. Green, fresh, a little spiciness.
Perhaps it is exactly this association with my favorite country & food that makes me love this scent so much.
Every time I smell it, memories of my last vacation come flooding back.
And that is exactly what fragrances are supposed to do, to take us on a little journey into our dream world…

The Reserved One in the Dark Blue Suit
I had Bleu de Chanel 10 years ago. Back then, I might have been too young for the scent.
Now, in my mid-30s, having rediscovered my love for fragrances, I just had to try it again. I got it at a good price from a nice young gentleman in the Souk, and it has since found a place in my collection. And I still like it. In my opinion, it’s a fragrance that a man can never go wrong with in any situation. It’s simply always appropriate in its own way. It’s not a “WOW” scent, it doesn’t stand out, but that’s exactly what it doesn’t want to do. It has style, it has class, and it comes without the big show.
For me, the EdP is the most beautiful of the three Bleu de Chanels (I’ve already tested the others as samples)
It’s the perfect blend of all. At first, it’s refreshingly citrusy. Sparkling on the skin, it gives a good, invigorating feeling.
Over time, it becomes calmer, the woody-spicy notes don’t shine as much anymore. Nevertheless, the scent is always present. A bit of “understatement”
Describing it as a person, it’s like a middle-aged businessman in a dark blue suit (just like the bottle of the fragrance), sitting in a bar in the evening, treating himself to a cocktail after a successful day. Nothing extravagant, just a classic, delicious gin and tonic. He catches the attention of women because he is well-groomed and appears successful without putting himself in the spotlight. His company is simply pleasant. He knows his way around the world but doesn’t brag about it. He seems content, happy, balanced. Just like the fragrance he wears:
