Pure Nostalgia
My first thought after spraying this perfume was 'Wow, this scent reminds me of something.'
As a child, I often visited the quaint clothing store in the village, which had a very special smell. This perfume reminds me exactly of that... I immediately googled the notes, and indeed, there is ink in the top note! That's exactly how it smells, very strong in the top note paired with iris.
You definitely don't encounter that often. I found myself sniffing my wrist more and more.
Over time, the ink fades into the background, and the iris becomes more prominent. Vanilla and wood round out the scent.
It's a warm, gentle fragrance. I get the image of writing a letter to an old friend in a bathrobe after a warm bath.
The longevity is decent, and the sillage is never overwhelming.
Long story short; very good scent, definitely not an everyday one. It feels more mature to me, which is probably the only reason I won't be getting it in full size. I love my gourmand fragrances too much for that. But that could still change!
