Charlie Silver Revlon 1998

A watery, slightly ozonic scent which doesn't impress me at all. A bit of calone and some artificial flowers in faint dilution unite to produce the weakest scent in the entire "Charlie" range. I'm reminded of "Fire and Ice Cool" (also by Revlon) and can't recommend this boring and uninventive fragrance. If you are familiar with the original "Charlie", you'll be very disappointed by this version which hasn't got anything in common with the old drugstore megaseller from the 70's. Could pass as an air-freshener.

In the 70s, my mom gave me the original Charlie, and I wore it with pride.
I felt so grown up.
At the time, I was still a teenager, and becoming an adult was still a long way off.
I’m still not done with it to this day.
I still find it difficult to make "grown-up" decisions.
I realized this yesterday when my friend brought me Charlie Silver.
It was like a time travel back to my partly happy, partly very insecure youth.
Feelings that are still all too familiar to me today.
But even though the lily of the valley and the apricot are a bit dreamy, Silver is rather a clear scent - gently urging me towards clear thinking.
It does this not harshly, but very gently.
The mild pear has something familiar, like the times spent under grandpa's pear tree.
The heather reminds me of trips to the beautiful Lüneburg Heath.
I would love to turn back time - yet the clear, aquatic component of the fragrance urges me to stay in the here and now.

No matter how the present is, it wants to be lived.
