My American dextrose dream
Do you remember those bracelets and necklaces made of glucose that you could get for a small mark at the swimming pool kiosk? And a Mini Milk Strawberry to cool you down from the inside?
This is exactly what American Cream has reminded me of since the very first second. Not the disappointment of having spent all my pocket money for the week on this short-lived, fruity glucose excess. No, more of those sweet, fruity, synthetic flavors that almost got you high on those hot summer days.

And that's exactly why the fragrance has something nostalgic about it for me, bringing me lightness and a sense of well-being. I'm already using the second bottle, Open End :D

I think this fragrance is very special and stands out in the Lush range. In my opinion, many of the brand's fragrances are characterized by the fact that they are quite (sometimes overwhelming) boards, this one is really nice understatement - and yet by no means weak in performance! The longevity is great, I can still slightly smell it on my clothes for days. The fragrance is one of the most powdery I know, someone here wrote "dry", which I think sums it up very well. It almost borders on scratchy, but not necessarily in a negative way. It's just that the cream in the name is a bit misleading here.

American Cream cannot be over-sprayed. The more, the cuddlier and nicer, and it probably won't bother anyone. In short: a pleasing, feminine fragrance. Occasion: Always and everywhere, from spring to fall.

A lot has already been written here about the character, and I agree with the vanilla as the supporting and all-encompassing main note. I love vanilla fragrances, but they shouldn't be boring and should have a certain twist. AC offers me that with the tasty, delicious, synthetic strawberry and the very subtle spiciness of lavender and sage. The benzoin resin gives the fragrance a certain depth and warmth and makes the vanilla wonderfully round without taking away its gourmand character.

Thank you, Lush, for this masterpiece that literally sweetens my fragrance life!

The spiciest cookie in the world
Now that the sub-zero temperatures have set in outside and the first people are putting up their Christmas lights, it's finally time to get Turmeric Latte off the shelf again, spray it on a daily basis and let this fragrance cuddle you up. Because I admit, there aren't many times of the year when I enjoy wearing it as much as I do now.
For me, it's a very typical, heavy, sweet and dark winter fragrance with real oomph, so I never need more than two sprays to enjoy it for a long time. The fragrance is also quite linear and doesn't show much development.

The fragrance reminds me a lot of the spicy ginger cookies you get at Ikea, only with more smoke, resinousness (which is particularly prevalent in the opening) and spice. There is tonka in it, but not a marzipan-like tonka bean, but one that tends towards espresso bean. I can even smell something slightly burnt. And of course the spicy vanilla that envelops and rounds everything off.

Conclusion: definitely not a run-of-the-mill fragrance and by Lush standards it's a real winner!

The forest, the incens and the art of sauna
Sometimes, when I go on mid-summer bike rides with my gravel bike, I love to roam the local forests. Often there lie harvested logs of spruce and fir, neatly stacked, already dried for weeks in the summer sun. I throttle the speed, breathe in the dry-woody, warm, resinous-sweet aromas. Peace and a sense of well-being spread through me. That is exactly Bois d'argent for me.

Yes, maybe by chance an altar boy walks by, smiling friendly, waving a barrel of surprisingly unmuffled incense. Possibly I dreamed that, maybe not ;)
The woody is joined by pleasant herbaceous, "hay-y" notes. Here I associate a sauna in a noble spa, which is still warm the next day. I also smell chamomile background, in the form of a well-drawn chamomile tea with honey. Only still beautiful!

But something else fascinates me: Bois d'argent is the most "neutral" perfume I have, it is just completely above things. Knows no gender, no age, no time of day or season. It is also super linear. The bottle forms a sensory experience because of the shape and the magnetic cap.

Very big downer (especially at the price): The shelf life is really grottig, the sillage, however, good, as long as he is still there. Layering with Molecule 01 provides me with more Wums in the first 2 hours and emphasizes the woodiness. A poor consolation. Still the undisputed favorite on the throne of my fragrance collection. Why? It touches something deep inside me and makes my synapses fire like nothing else. So it should be but ideally in a fragrance.

To a pipe in the rose garden
After I already had a lot of fun with the Exploration Kit from Commodity (contains a whopping 18 fragrances!), I knew that one fragrance definitely had to move in as a full bottle: Velvet! The Velvet series has me by far the most gecatcht. The curious thing is that Velvet and Velvet hardly differ from each other. The former should actually - according to the Scent Space concept of Commodity - be closer to the skin, but for me both fragrance notes and H/S of the two fragrances are identical. Velvet+, on the other hand, has nothing at all to do with the other two, since the rose is completely missing.

So much for the classification of the three Velvets to each other.

To describe this wonderful fragrance, please see me that this is my first Rezi and my nose still needs a lot of practice :) Nevertheless, I can rightly say that Velvet has absolutely captivated me, because it is an extremely exciting rose fragrance. Actually, rose scents are often either too girly or too "mature" for me...just often meh. This rose here is dirty, gritty, a bit coked up and at the same time subtle understatement. On the other hand, the soft, sweet clove with vanilla that comes across almost tobacco-like. Almond and coconut I barely smell. Rose-smoke-vanilla, I perceive.

So I can absolutely understand the comparisons with By the fireplace. But what BTF has in pepper and bang in the prelude, Velvet has in subdued florality. For me, two completely different pairs of shoes. But who likes spicy-smoky, will probably also like both.

Minus point: In terms of H / S unfortunately very weak on the chest. Have already after 4 h the need to refill. Again, no comparison to the BTF.

The fragrance is quite linear and shows no great development, with which I personally have no problem at all, on the contrary. MMn rather on the feminine spectrum.

From the occasion I like to wear it in everyday life, also fits super as Ausgehduft from autumn to spring, perhaps in a well-groomed bar. All-rounder for everything that is not high summer.

Conclusion: restrained and noble, special and entertaining. For me, an enchanting no-brainer that always goes.
