Hello folks, this might be my first comment here under a fragrance since I haven't been very active in the community for long.
I first heard about the fragrance from Jeremy Fragrance on YouTube (I mention him now, no matter how polarizing he is) and he always claimed it was the Number One among all fragrances. I wasn't familiar with the niche world at all, so it was all the more interesting when a friend took me to Breuninger to smell the scent. To be honest, I didn't want to become a follower by loving the fragrance to death, but with this statement in mind, this stamp of the best perfume spun further in my head, and I forced myself to like the smell.
The statement that came out of my mouth was "best perfume of all time."
I didn't buy it right away (which the saleswoman desperately wanted). Instead, I had a sprayer applied to my right arm and sprayed Dior Sauvage (EDP) on my left to compare their performance. Well, Creed Aventus didn't perform better, and upon inquiry, the Sauvage scored more points, so what justifies this price? Clearly! The hype.
I wanted to test the fragrance extensively after purchase, so I wore it on a special day.
Undoubtedly, the scent smells extremely good. What fascinates me the most is the lemon note. Because it smells just like a real lemon (slightly bitter in the finish) instead of just being sharply sour. It's not as harsh as with a designer fragrance. Much more, the notes caress the nose gently but are strong enough to be noticed.
However, in recent days, I've noticed that the performance personally no longer satisfies me. My expectations have risen, and therefore I rule out a further purchase. The "lack of performance" is most likely due to my batch (2020), but if Creed is already massively degrading their best fragrance, then it's only about the money. Because the price is by no means worth it (anymore).
So my conclusion (if you take the reformulations into account):
You're promised a racehorse, but what you get is a cash cow... and I'm sorry to inform the fanatical Aventus fans, but the cash lands with Creed. You get to keep the cow. Be glad about that. At least it's alive :D
