Rosier than I expected, but not a juicy feminine kind of rose.
Very spiritual, Indian feel to this scent. Opens with dry rose, features a beautiful sandalwood note and discreet leather over a mild oud base with musk & amber. Great evening scent, maybe not so much for hot Summer days. Fairly strong juice - I'm getting 6-8 hours endurance from single sprays, with about 2 hours of modest projection.

I have quite a few by Ahmed Al Maghribi now, and while some aren't as epic as others, there isn't a dud in the bunch.

A vanilla that's clean, not cloying
Wore this for the first time today and I'm happy with it. Less citrus-forward than I'd expected; somehow I though there would be a lemon note but for me it's mostly bergamot. Vanilla is the heart of the fragrance, certainly. To my nose the bergamot runs slightly mentholic - together with hints of ginger (and maybe pepper) this keeps it fresh and saves it from going too warm or sweet.
Fairly linear progress - what I got at the beginning remained through the life of the scent, though it became slightly more ambery in the late drydown, as many frags do.

Nice to have a vanilla that's fresh and not overly complex. IMO it leans a bit masculine.
However I think most women would be quite happy with this scent.

Performance for me has been pretty good. This is pretty potent juice. I tested it with two single sprays - one to the crook of my elbow and another at the back of my neck. That gave 6-7 hours endurance with an hour and a half of decent projection, and a further hour of moderate scent trail. That's quite good for single sprays on my skin, especially at this price point.

I should add here that my bottle is only two weeks old so the performance is likely to improve, as is typical with bargain Middle Eastern fragrances. (Nice bottle, BTW, with a decent sprayer.)

I'd rate this a good grab, especially with cool weather rolling in. So many vanilla fragrances are loaded with cinnamon or other spices, I'm glad to have found one that's fairly simple and pure.

Satwa is easy to wear, lasts well, and makes its presence known without taking over the room.
I think few would be turned off by the smell of it. And for under $30 I'd say it's an excellent bargain.
