According to Parfumo, this perfume has already been discontinued, yet it has only just come onto the market? That's strange.
That and the fact that it is supposed to be a dupe for
Gentleman Givenchy Réserve Privée made me buy it.
At first I was suspicious, because according to many, the
Odyssey Homme was already a
Dior Homme Intense (2011) /
Valentino Uomo Intense (2016) dupe.
Both fragrances are similar to
Gentleman Givenchy Réserve Privée.
But the Armaf really didn't smell like any of the fragrances mentioned.
I only tested the
Gentleman Givenchy Réserve Privée years ago.
Definitely a nice fragrance, but I already own the "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior" which also smells similar, but still better and has more horsepower under the hood.
That's why I decided against buying it at the time.
Nevertheless, I still remember quite well what Givenchy smelled like and the
Qaa'ed Intense comes extremely close.
Probably a bit fresher and a bit more synthetic in the opening, but still a really good and successful dupe, no comparison to Armaf, thankfully.
The opening features white honey, tobacco and cinnamon.
I don't notice any of that at all.
I smell more of an iris like you know from Givenchy.
Very powdery, "lipsticky iris" you would say in English
Very subtly sweet and spicy, just like the original.
Only, as mentioned above, this one is a little fresher and less spicy.
The patchouli in the DD makes it more earthy.
I also detect myrrh, something also reminds me of benzoin.
And although iris is not one of the fragrance notes in the DD either, I still perceive it most prominently.
Until the end, it is an interplay of powdery "iris", myrrh and patchouli.
And also until the end, you have a fragrance that is strongly reminiscent of
Gentleman Givenchy Réserve Privée.
I cannot rate the performance of the original.
According to someone who owns both fragrances, the Lattafa has a better radiance.
I myself can only say that I have now only worn the fragrance on my clothes and noticed a decent radiance of 2.5 hours.
Not really strong, but still discreetly perceptible.
For the small price of €16.99, this is respectable.
Lasts for 2 days on clothing.
All in all, I am satisfied with the Qaa'ed Intense.
A really great dupe of a great fragrance.
The original will of course always be the original.
Nevertheless, you get a very similar fragrance with good quality for little money.
If you like the original and want to save money, you've come to the right place.
For me currently one of the 3 best Lattafa on the market and therefore definitely a buy recommendation from me
