Confusion..
I don't understand this fragrance. Orphéon was a nightclub in Paris in the 60s where the Diptyque founders often met and spent their nights in the beginning. Smoke, rouge and patinated wood should be embodied. But it's best to forget that now, because this fragrance is none of those things. Smoke and nightclub would have been the last thing on my mind if I had smelled this fragrance blind. And that's why I was so disappointed at first.

If you don't let the story blind you, you get a soft floral with a slightly woody undertone and a vintage touch. Orphéon is more reminiscent of a luxurious bar of soap in a chic Parisian hotel. Very beautiful and high-quality, no doubt about it, but not at all what it is supposed to say.

Polarizing rebel
And I love you for it. Scandal is everything I like in a fragrance, which is why I've dedicated my first review to it. Sweet, loud, polarizing. Scandal is not polite or reserved, she is present and 100% herself. The fact that some people find her obnoxious or pushy is answered with a cheeky wink. When I smell Scandal, I see a modern woman, ageless, eccentric, a free spirit. She attaches no importance to status; for her, style is first and foremost creative and wild. She dances on sticky dance floors, wears slightly smudged eyeliner and doesn't care what others think of her.

I can clearly detect the blood orange in the opening, along with a good dose of honey. I really like this combination and it makes the fragrance special. The patchouli then grounds it in the drydown. Longevity and sillage couldn't be better.

A special fragrance that doesn't get lost in the crowd. This also means that you might not be everybody's darling when you wear it. Personally, I can live with that.
