Mango takes the edges off the sweet grass.
I came across this fragrance because I was looking for a vetiver perfume that was compatible with my tastes. Normally, I am rather less the fan of this so popular sweet grass as an ingredient. Still, I didn't want to completely turn my back on this fragrance component because I don't want my collection to be too unbalanced.
So I set out and "vetiver-scents-for-vetiver-haters"-tested. In my shortlist have then "Etat Libre d'Orange - Fat Electrician", "Byredo Parfums - Bal d'Afrique" and "J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin - Meeting Point 8 o'clock" made it.

Treffpunkt 8 Uhr starts with a very dominant ginger note. When sniffing the applied it tickles a little in my nose. The mango accord I perceive as something sweet, indefinable. Have also heard from some that they associate this with peach (can't sign that now). The prelude is joined relatively quickly by a special scent. Sage (which I usually do not like so much and associate as something old-fashioned) is perceptible and is again interestingly played around. Probably from the autumn crocus. I must confess that I don't really know how this plant smells. In any case, it gives it a kind of "it" factor --> somehow special. The vetiver also fights its way more and more to the fore on my skin from the middle on. This is subtly caressed by the initial sweetness of the mango. The fruit takes a bit of the roughness away from the sweetgrass and rounds out the angular edges a bit. This olfactory experience then lasts until the end of the fragrance. Very pleasant and pleasing and at the same time a little special.

The fragrance pleases me on the whole very well and I wear it very gladly especially in the warmer months. Actually, it is not my style but I try as I said more often times to get out of my comfort zone and expand my "fragrance horizon".
The bottle of the fragrance I find very nice. Reduced with a beautiful lid. Strange I find only that the brand uses two different spray heads with different stop mechanisms (But that only on the sidelines. Both mechanisms work well!)

Former Signature scent
If we use a perfume often, the bottle will of course become emptier and emptier. The way I see it, the bottle is no longer filled with perfume, but with memories.
I wore Gaultier2 almost every day when I was a teenager. My friends used to say that the scent smelled like you.
At that time, I was very much influenced by perfume bottles and this was what fascinated me at the time. Magnets on the back to connect two bottles with each other. The name of the perfume on the inside so you can see it through the perfume.
I tested the fragrance en direct, of course, but I was already very influenced by the presentation (the same with Fleur Du Male at the same time).
The fragrance started my love of vanilla and amber and every time I sniff my now final bottle, I think of all the beautiful and not so beautiful memories of my youth. A lot of drama, school and of course a lot of clubbing.
Lately I see a new hype of this fragrance sprouting on Youtube and Instagram. These people are paying way too much money for the scent. (Probably the need to smell different than everyone else is bigger than the pain of having to pay so much money for the perfume)
The scent is not really complex. Very linear with some vintage character. As I said, I will always keep it in my heart just because of all the memories, but I've stopped wearing it now and I don't wear it anymore. Now I prefer to concentrate on my new fragrances and try to capture some nice memories with them.

Vanilla for vanilla haters
Before I smelled and wore Eau Duelle for the first time, my expectations were quite different. I imagined the scent to be much sweeter and more vanilla. This may be due to the fact that until now I have only smelled vanillin fragrances.
While spraying it on, the thought came to my mind: What a natural smelling scent. Not really like a perfume at all. Very woody and spicy. A touch of pine or pine resin I perceive or at least believe it. This experience is accompanied by a wonderful smokiness and an authentically scented vanilla, which, however, remains covered in the background at first. The vanilla fights its way into the foreground during the day and culminates in a pleasant fragrance at the end of the day. The component is never penetrating or too sweet. I have a few vanilla scents in my collection and I perceive Eau Duelle more as a holier-than-thou fragrance.
The perfume is never intrusive. I notice it, but I'm not really addressed. Often I wear it to bed just for myself.
I have never smelled the EdT and therefore I cannot make a comparison.
All in all, Eau Duelle is for me a very beautiful and pleasant fragrance that convinced me with its authentic scent. An adult authentic vanilla, which can definitely be worn by men as well.
I don't have to say anything about the diptyque bottles. For me they are beautiful in design!

Interesting companion that comes in three robes.
This fragrance is really fascinating. On the Internet or in the perfume community in general, there are some ominous stories about this fragrance. I have heard and read a lot. From smells like urinal and cat urine up to smells like a cinnamon snail in the bakery everything was there.
So I bought the fragrance or "this legend" myself in order to improve my perfume-technical skills, to get a little bit out of my comfort zone and maybe find a perfume that still appeals to me in the end.
Conclusion when wearing this perfume: It comes around the corner on my skin in three different variations. Either extremely spicy and cloves, gourmand or interestingly masculine animalistic. Strangely, I find it strange that this doesn't vary in a fragrance progression as usual, but comes in a completely different guise depending on the day. I like all 3 variations very much and can arrange and make friends with them. In any case it is a very interesting scent and an experience. If you want to smell like this, everybody has to test and decide for himself but I am glad to own it.
I would have liked to test the old formulation with the matt lid. This one is said to have been even more musky and animalistic

Citrus scent on steroids
A very special and beautiful summer scent. Despite the citrus components very rich and creamy. When spraying it on, the summer really comes your way. Not in a refreshing way, but as if you are being warmed up by the summer sun. The perfume is very oily when applied.
The opening wakes me up by the pleasant citrus scent and lets me start the day energetically. This feeling does not last long, as I am immediately enveloped by a creaminess of beautiful exotic flowers. As if an angel would embalm an angel with the most luxurious sun cream in the world. The fragrance envelops you all day long like a never-ending sunset in paradise. The warming woods round off the fragrance experience at the end of the day even more.
All in all a wonderful fragrance experience with very good durability for a summery scent. A short holiday in a bottle!
