Modern Habit Rouge
This is an intense, modern version of the original Habit Rouge.
The DNA is intact, however they removed the sharpness from the opening and added a sweet, boozy vanilla as the backbone of this fragrance. I appreciate the quality of the vanilla as it resembles the one used in their more expensive L'Art & la Matiere fragrances like Spiritueuse Double Vanille.
It smells less vintage but the sweetness might be overpowering for some, or in the hot climate. I appreciate the fact that at least is a quality type of sweetness, not the modern synthetic mess.
Longevity is amazing, with a strong projection in the first hour. Beautiful scent trail.
If you want a richer and sweeter Habit Rouge with a heavy dose of quality Guerlain vanilla, then this is for you. Unique.
Photorealistic emotions
Tobacco Maniac opens up with a mix of tobacco, honey and patchouli, a bit strong but well balanced. As it dries down the tobacco note fades a little bit, honey and vanilla step up giving creaminess, while a big dose of patchouli keeps the fragrance a little bit earthy. All I can say is that every note that I can smell seems very realistic and natural, that's incredible. I can even compare it in the drydown with a tobacco-honeyed version of Tempo from Diptyque (a patchouli masterpiece in my vision).
Longevity: days on clothes, very oily on the skin (lasting about 8+ hours).
Sillage: great, it leaves a noticeable trail, especially if it is applied on clothes.
Projection: moderate, increasing when skin heats up, acting like an extrait de parfum.
Price: a little bit expensive, 150 euros for 50 ml of extrait, but the quality is amazing.
