Christmas
December 24, 1991. The gifts were modest, but precious and heartfelt. My father bought it at the local perfumery; back then, there were neither Müller nor Roßmann in the Swabian small town. I also don’t remember a dm. At Schlecker, there was aftershave for men, but no good scents.
There it was: my Joop! Homme.
The fragrance enchanted, made me an invulnerable hero!
From the splash bottle, I only applied a few fingers to my skin; never more than four or five. The show-offs still wear too much today…
It carried me through wild times! …and it worked! Everything that needed to happen did! And I was no chiseled superhero from a gym; back then, it was different - with Joop! Homme. And it was so much!
Joop was worn with pleasure; but not excessively. It was occasionally smelled here and there, between 1881 and Charactere. Smelling good was not a matter of a successful online purchase and was therefore appreciated and honored in the surrounding environment.
Joop! Homme fit well in pubs, nightclubs, and art exhibitions. It even went to church on Sundays. For school, you took a maximum of two fingers. School was not the preferred place for dates or fishing trips.
The sillage was overwhelming back then: Every enclosed space (car, room, toilet) preserved the scent. Pillows, blankets, and clothing had no chance of hiding the contact. And so it was inevitable to buy a follow-up bottle.
My son will also find his first Joop! Homme under the tree on December 24 in a few years, and I wish him just as beautiful moments with it. When boys become men.

Zino's Rough Brother
On the test strip, Ag "Silver" opened with a grandiose spiciness on a manageable (45 minutes) wave of eucalyptus, all built on a Zino base. Fascinating!
Overall, the entire scent is exciting, completely old school in the base, and on top of that, it packs a punch. Unfortunately, this eucalyptus-pepper explosion fades a bit too quickly. On the other hand, one can easily reapply for €25.
A fascinating yet down-to-earth stunner. I'll be getting this next time!
It's also interesting what some companies can pull out of the hat (test tube). My nose couldn't detect any cheap chemicals or low-quality alcohol; that speaks to good craftsmanship. Fascinating.

The next day:
18 hours later: It remains a creamy-fougere scent that still strongly reminds me of the good Zino. The eucalyptus and pepper have disappeared.

The Myth…
6xxx users own this fragrance. Just the dry and completely humorless presentation justifies its inclusion in a beautiful collection. The bottle is great, straightforward, and subtly dominant. It simply stands there, in black. The dark cuboid wooden cap makes some hope for a connection to nature with dark woods. There it stands: Black, bulky, and heavy. Not an ugly block, but clear black edges. “ENCRE NOIRE” in the clearest font. Period.
Due to the many comments and descriptions, the expectation is clear and set. Full of anticipation for “damp forest floor,” “crushed resinous needles,” “high cool humidity”… A clear liquid with hints of ink (could also be royal blue) and pencil shavings (B2) sprays from the neat atomizer. Very nice. A metallic base is perceptible, still overlaid by the inky pencil shavings. The combination of the ingredients is very successful here. The vetiveryl acetate is likely the main contributor to the first impression. Very clear so far. Industrial. The pencil shaving nuance gives something industrial - metalworking company?

Insert: Reading the previous comments, I see people dressed in black, adorned with chains, crawling through the wet forest with poorly made-up eyes. Somehow that doesn’t fit.

I continue to smell: The fragrance changes; but it is still clear and dominant. The inky note is slowly fading. The pencil shavings remain a bit longer. Now the Bourbon from the Bourbon vetiver is advancing relentlessly. This is accompanied by a softness from the cashmere wood. In the drydown, I perceive a slightly underlying sweetness from Bourbon cashmere. It feels slightly vanillic. This sweetness is pleasant, but unfortunately does not match the humorless start at all. I would have wished for more herbs, moss in the drydown.

It goes on naturally, even if it doesn’t remain entirely humorless.

However, the oft-described forest myth is completely missing for me.

Flower Pot with…
blackcurrant aroma and a hint of pineapple chemistry and a slight smokiness. The opening of the current batch lasts a few minutes and then the quickly fading remainder sets in. I could have easily saved my money.
The cheap brands from France and Poland make it more durable and also linear and dull.
What Armaf can do is a massive and very heavy flanker. It's even pretty. The two cheap dupes can pack it up and definitely won't win any flower pots.
Unfortunately, the Armaf also doesn't get a flower pot from me. Maybe I'm just too tough and/or too old for the trendy water.

Warmer Engel
Yes, a modest title; somehow fitting.

I have had some nice summer scents, some were refreshing as well. This one gets everything right: freshness (slightly sharpened grapefruit) in the opening and then a light, ever-present cannabis note, which also carries very fresh orangey notes.

I wore it on cold rainy days and on warm spring days, and it fits just grandly here.

So I’ll let the innocent angel start into the warm season. I will repurchase it. Other Rammstein scents, no! The pure White intense is unfortunately no longer available.

H/S: Spray on clothing! You get more out of it.

Unisex: No, that would be very strange. Subjective.

Update: In continuous use, it becomes increasingly boring. At first, I found the scent idea nice, a bit unusual, and therefore wearable for me.

Tuscany, Azzaro, Agua Brava can be worn daily with joy; the Rammstein, on the other hand, simply seems "cheap".

I will quickly use it up in the coming weeks.
