A scandal
I've been here for about 10 years now and have tested, worn and bought old and new rarities, niche fragrances, limited editions, my own creations and regional fragrances from all over the world in addition to the full mainstream designer program of the big perfume stores... many of you too. My favorites over the years have been M7 third version, Oud Wood, Aventus, chambre Noire, l'instant de guerlain eau extreme original version, Geir Ness, Dior Bois D "Argent, Dior homme intense second version, pure malt/havanne, Andy Warhole from Bond No. 9, also some Nasomattos and Parfums de Marlys and Kilians, Amouages... I'm writing this as a kind of preface so that you can get an idea of whether you also like these fragrances or whether your personal taste takes you in a completely different direction.

Night Flow:
I'll start by saying that despite being a longtime hardcore Tom Ford fan, I not only don't like Tuscan Leather, I can't stand it on me, it's one of those scents for me that I try to wash off and spray over. Yes, there is a similarity, but Night Flow lacks that biting raspberry, which could be a cherry in Night Flow. The fruitiness is clearly there, but I wouldn't suspect raspberry behind it if it wasn't listed. Night Flow is for me the best fragrance I have smelled in my life, it is a perfection of form of everything I want in a perfume. It is soft, round, sweet but not sweet, like a 20 year old Taylor Tawny Port, warm, intense and harmonious. An Oud Wood without its smokiness, an M7 without its scratchiness, a Chambre Noire without its heaviness. It is one of the strongest concentrations I have had so far and, as with Nasomatto, a single spritz is enough for the whole day and several days on clothes. Even 1 year later, I'm only just under halfway through the 78ml. In comparison, I go through a 100ml Aventus in 3 months, as I wear it twice a day with approx. 7-9 sprays.

I once wrote a review about a women's fragrance by Balenciaga that I imagine my bride at the wedding in this fragrance. Well... Night Flow was the final fragrance for my own wedding, I had smelled it for the first time a few days before and it was also relatively new, but it made it straight into the "final arena", because there are probably few events in life where you care as much about wearing the perfect fragrance as at your own wedding. Of course, this fragrance is now forever associated with a lot of memories and emotions. It has a high recognition value and is ideal as a signature fragrance. It is only too loud and present for sports, the office or the supermarket. For festive occasions, an evening date, a winter walk ... it is an absolute dream. Here below two write as a statement that it is not strong or has poor durability, I can only speak for my copy and that is overwhelmingly strong with 3 sprays that you take rooms and after hours you still smell that you were somewhere. Would be interesting to know if the statement is based on a bottle, or a bottling.

The scandal:
After such a long search, for such an incredibly good fragrance, which to my nose is a masterpiece of the century, I can hardly believe that I am the first to post a comment about it and there are no entries in the souk. I received many compliments when I wore it and without exception everyone who smelled the bottle (about 10 people in a year) commented on it with "wow........wow", "absolutely amazing", "man, that stuff smells good" and the like. Anyone who doesn't know it should consider giving it a try, I'm also very curious to see what people who also like the fragrances in my first paragraph above have to say or write about it.

A dice game
I advise caution, have ordered several testers of all Aventus clones of Parfums Vintage and found like many Emperor best, have then ordered 50ml and also an Oud Wood clone which is also available on their website. Emperor was great and Oud Wood contrary to the reviews here, a really bad dupe that smelled completely different. I was thrilled with Emperor though, as it was really on par with the best version of the original Aventus, as was the tester. After a short time, however, I found that the shelf life was surprisingly poor compared to the tester. One could him after 1-2 hours already garnicht more, also others could nevertheless I had several sprays on my forearm, no longer perceive anything. So I thought, maybe a problem of 50ml bottles, because I read different statements about the shelf life. So I directly reordered the 100ml bottle, this was not only similarly bad in the durability, this smelled even significantly different and was decidedly further away from Aventus than, for example, the 30€ Club de Nuit. I have then written directly to Parfums Vintage, whether there was possibly something wrong bottled, or they have made a mistake when mixing, perhaps have another explanation for it. I got like many before me, no answer. The call up a proud price for their perfumes and in my experience, was only the tester of excellent durability. Whether that is specifically so, or I just had bad luck, I can not say, but I will definitely not order a third time there and expressly warn of the strong fluctuations that were delivered to me. For 2 bottles that were not worth the money, I could have bought an original. From my point of view, Club de Nuit is the one that comes closest, in the air hardly distinguishable, in direct comparison I succeed. Too bad, because the tester of Emperor, I could not distinguish from the original, or would even hold emperor rather for the original, he had this typical vibe, which also has the limited edition of Club de Nuit in lighter form. Unfortunately though, the limited edition is overall weaker in sillage than the EDT and in drydown it is also inferior to the cheaper EDT. Getting back to Emperor...I feel bounced and ripped off. The bottles and sprayers from Parfums Vintage are of the cheapest quality, which I could have lived with if the contents had matched the tester, but so only further underscores my image of audacity.

Homage to a forgotten star
To begin with, I'd like to make it clear right away that I'm not writing about the perfume in the picture here, but about its first version with the nickname "Eau Extreme" with the bottle with a brown rim, which unfortunately doesn't get a presence of its own here. It's a pity, because when I registered here many years ago, this eau de parfum was number 1 in the ranking for weeks, maybe months. It was my entry into the world of perfume and my first bottle I had in my collection. The cocoa note already had something for me at that time, something unknown and fascinating. It is conservative and daring at the same time, which sounds like a contradiction, but if you know it, you might know what I mean by it. He is earthy, spicy, sweet, warm, but adult without being stuffy. Since his production has been discontinued, or rather his successors, which have been reformulated for the fourth time, are a sad shadow of his former self, he has long disappeared from my radar. The complexity is gone, his strength, endurance and naturalness are on the shelf in a watered-down something with a similar heart note, both the top note and the base are in the dog. The price for the "original version" explodes in auctions, worldwide you can only find 2-3 bottles of it and these then up toM 5 times the former purchase price of Müller or Douglas. I consider it not only an absolute masterpiece of the art of perfume, but also one of the best perfumes I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It has taken a long time to recognize and appreciate this beauty in its full extent, sometimes you need time to get distance to understand and love something. There is also something that I suspect, but do not know... high-proof spirits like port wine, whiskey and rum become better and more valuable the older they are, a perfume is also a liquid with a high alcohol content and I have the impression that in 2020 it will be much better than I remembered it from back then, also because there are hardly any perfumes left that go on all day with a single spray like this one. It's more for special occasions, more in the evening and winter, than sport and heat. It's definitely one of those you take out of the closet just to sniff the spray and close your eyes with a smile. He reminds me why I'm here, his beauty overwhelms me and makes me ashamed that I underestimated her so much all these years that passed with the mainstream becoming flatter and flatter
