Below it smolders, above it crackles
A bit of cardboard and a few small twigs for the nest of embers, then dry wood from the shed.
With a few trained hand movements, the small door of the fireplace and the air flow valve are properly adjusted and checked every few minutes and readjusted if necessary.
The wood, combined with a portion of ambition and the aforementioned hand movements, ignites a fire in my small but highly warming French fireplace in the secluded house by the lake.
The scent of smoke lingers in the air, but contrary to the habit of completely opening the garden-facing sliding door to let the smoke dissipate, today only a small crack remains open.

While I am busy stoking the fireplace, my wife prepares tea and brings a pan with chestnuts and sugar.
She treats herself to black tea with an intense vanilla note and a splash of milk. For me, as a fruit tea drinker, there is hot orange tea with the broken stem of a clove.
The scents of orange and vanilla blend with the aroma of the smoky wood.
Every half hour, two logs are added, finding their place next to the already charred wood.

The special feature of this small fireplace is that there is also a kind of "cooking plate" made of cast iron on the surface, which becomes hot from the heat of the burning wood below.
Thus, the fire smolders below, and above, the now caramelized chestnuts crackle - mhhh!
A blanket in front of the fireplace and a good book round off the experience perfectly.
The various scent notes merge into an unmistakable masterpiece with character, exuding a feeling of well-being and "being at home".

This is exactly how I perceive the perfume "By the fireplace" from the designer house Maison Martin Margiela!?

Fragrance directions:
The fragrance types range from smoky-woody, sweet (almost gourmand) to softly winter-spicy and resinous. The progression changes from initially dry-smoky to sweet-smoky. The vanilla note with a hint of smokiness is very noticeable over a period of 5-6 hours before it drifts into a skin-close scent.

Characteristics:
I would describe the scent with the following words:
cozy (almost sensual), warming, contemplative, tranquil, carefree

H&S:
The longevity and sillage are, in my opinion, above average.
From time to time, a smoky-sweet waft brushes past my nose, making me smile every time.

Bottle:
The glass bottle fits the scent it contains; it is simple with a nice thick base, and the white-wrapped cord below the sprayer gives the overall picture a slightly nostalgic touch. The label on the front includes a brief overview (What do I offer, who am I suitable for, where was I made). The color of the liquid is well chosen, although it could have also been in a dark red tone. The bottle does not have a cap.

My conclusion:
A unique scent that I definitely classify as an autumn or winter perfume.
Anyone who cannot do without smoky-woody and vanilla-like fragrances with good spice balance should definitely test this scent. The gentlemen should not be deterred by the aforementioned sweetness of this fragrance, as the smoky-woody note also lends a touch of masculinity to the scent - thus Unisex :)

Happy Valentine's Day to you all,
smoky greetings, René

The 13th Warrior
Gracefully, an oriental saber swirls through the air alongside many hefty pieces of battle iron. Just like Antonio Banderas must have smelled among his rough Viking companions. Strangely yet attractively, novel and interesting, wild yet gentle, -
“Tasmeem Men” - A truly successful masterpiece at a bargain price!

The scent has its completely own character, and to this day, I have not encountered any fragrance that even remotely reminds me of this oriental mixture. The suggested fragrance twins like “Le Male,” “La nuit de l'homme,” “blue Jeans,” etc. - in my opinion, have nothing in common with this scent.

Fragrance Directions:
The fragrance types range from oriental and spicy to sweet and almost powdery. The progression remains nearly the same from beginning to end! It only becomes duller and powderier over time, but “Tasmeem Men” consistently retains its DNA.

Characteristics:
I would describe the scent with the following positive attributes:
inviting, cuddly, warming, calming, composed

H&S:
The longevity and sillage are, in my opinion, above average.
Regarding longevity, the scent is merciless on me; it lasts and lasts and lasts. Good!

Bottle:
The bottle seems rather mismatched to me in its color combination.
Green and blue convey more of a fresh-aquatic brew impression.
A soft red and brown tone might have been the more suitable option to reflect the
oriental-sweet liquid content. The metal cap is well done!

Conclusion:
A “must-have” for lovers of oriental fragrances and those who want to become one.
Even the “oud-avoiders,” for whom oud is only good when it doesn’t overpower, can gladly join in here because oud is not perceivable (at least for me), although something in
the liquid gently reminds of it. ?!
Tasmeem Men feels (especially at the beginning) almost unisex to me.
One or two ladies would surely love to sniff it on themselves. In the darker season, this scent is almost always wearable (excluding sports!)

It’s definitely worth a test; with that price, nothing can go wrong even with a blind buy. :)

I must go through the monsoon ...
No, I am not coming out as a fan of a German brother band (Pension in the Japanese capital). Here, I simply have to add a comment about this wonderful fragrance.

For the third time, I have now tested “Un Jardin après la Mousson” and once again, every cell in my body is happy. The scent reminds me of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest and the mist rising from the rain that has just fallen, stirring up the diversity of various green plants.
As if Jean-Claude Ellena had freshly dripped this little potion from the leaves of the trees into a
bottle.

I am already looking forward to the upcoming summer when the sun blazes down on me at 30°C and I tackle the hectic urban jungle with this fragrance.
Annoyed by the people and the tightness of the city, one is almost drawn to every patch of green.
However, not in the sense of stressed wandering, but completely relaxed and thanks to this cheerful potion with a large portion of good mood.

Fragrance types:
The wide-ranging scent spectrum ranges from green-fresh (grass-vetiver)
and spicy (cardamom, ginger, coriander) to slightly citrusy (lemon, lime)
to minimally sweet-spicy. (ginger blossom, pepper) Not every note is olfactorily
perceptible to me, but the different fragrance types are completely understandable.

Properties:
I would describe the fragrance with the following positive characteristics:
invigorating, playful, activating, life-affirming, cleansing, motivating, gently cooling

H&S:
The longevity and sillage are rather mediocre.
On one hand, it’s a shame because you want to experience more of this dopamine-boosting existence, but on the other hand, it almost seems intentional so that you don’t drift too far away and become unrealistic. :)

Bottle:
The bottle is designed in colors that match the content; the somewhat clumsy vintage cap
is debatable - but what matters is the content, and that is undeniably wonderfully done for me.

My conclusion:
Anyone looking for a summer fragrance that you don’t smell on every corner is in the right place here.
It really brings joy! It is wearable for both men and women.
Clear recommendation from my side :)

Woodless, sweet-spicy message from the beekeeper
Since Roberto Cavalli's "Uomo" is, in my opinion, still too unknown for its simple yet truly wonderful scent composition, it receives its first comment here and today.

I came across this fragrance through my wife, who brought home a scent strip dusted with "Uomo" after a walk through the city.
From the first whiff, I was smitten and had already mentally placed this perfume in my collection. Less than a week later, I had it as well :)

The scent remains nearly the same from beginning to end without diverging too much.
A sweet-spicy blend of dark honey with slight floral accents
(possibly the black violet?) accompanies you for the first 1-3 hours.
Over time, the fragrance becomes sweeter and the floral accents (unfortunately) fade away.
The cedar note in the base is not perceivable to my nose - the perfume is simply too sweet-spicy for that. (I can't detect any connections to "One Million" by PR here)

The sillage is quite remarkable; now and then, you catch a whiff of this fragrant symphony of honey notes and sweet spice accords. The longevity, in my opinion, is above average. I applied the fragrance this morning at 6:30 (4 sprays) and now at 18:00, it is still perceptible up close.

The bottle in black glass (reminds me of obsidian stone) with golden accents looks visually quite rough and ostentatious, yet it feels pleasant in the hand. The fill level is also easily visible against the light.

Due to the consistently lingering rather mature sweetness, I believe this fragrance suits not necessarily the youngest wearers but rather gentlemen between 25-40 years old, especially around the autumn season. In my opinion, despite the rather "masculine sweetness," the fragrance could also suit women! - My opinion - please test it!

For me, it's truly a top fragrance with this typical Cavalli DNA (as found in women's perfumes) which I unfortunately cannot describe.
I hope to lure one or the other to this dark honey pot or at least that this men's water gets a chance to be tested. ;)

Souvenir from the Wonder Cave
Agrabah, from the time around 1150

A flight through the Arabian night is about to begin. By now, he no longer needs the enchanting hands of his former bottle spirit. That evening, he reaches for another special treasure that Abu has also taken from the Wonder Cave along with the magic lamp. It is a small translucent vessel of immeasurable value filled with dark red liquid.
He dabs the precious juice on his neck and wrist, adjusts his Persian attire, and immediately boards his favorite mode of transport. The anticipation of the princess prompts him to hum the song "A whole new world" as he admires the breathtakingly beautiful backdrop of Agrabah during his air journey...

A truly seductive perfume from 1001 Nights, which nevertheless spares the wallet for its quality. An excellently sweet-oriental scent that, in my opinion, suits both Aladdin and Yasmin. Vanilla-sugary sweet, with a smoky, slightly fruity touch, not overly Oud-heavy like most fragrances that contain Oud. A wonderful interplay of fragrance notes with truly great longevity and above-average sillage. For me, this scent has something enchanting due to its pleasantly sweet-oriental composition. If no flying carpet is available, the fragrance can also be worn in the cold season, by the fireplace, during Christmas dinner, at the Christmas market, or at other evening activities.

Conclusion:
A perfume that deserves its positive comments and excellent rating.
For me, a clear recommendation to buy, or "Raghba - Lattafa" should definitely be tested :)
