Masterpiece
This is it for me, this Fougère. Since I already like Harry Lehmann's fragrances, I was expecting a good scent. After all, I have never really been disappointed so far. However, what fluttered through the door really blew me away. I'll say it straight and clear - this is how a Fougère should smell! Even though it's presumptuous, because this fragrance family is indeed very old and nowadays there probably isn't a real one left, even if many call themselves that... At least in my imagination, a Fougère should be exactly like this. It is such an olfactory delight that I can hardly describe it. Definitely old school, traditional. Herbal, spicy, aromatic, mossy. Everything is somehow there. Everything beautifully composed. Nothing really citrusy, but instead a herbal freshness that is not fresh in the sense of being fresh, but aromatic fresh, spicy. It is beautiful. The scent is (mind you as a Cologne) very present, very well adhering, and yet never intrusive. I find it super elegant and classic. No sweetness at all, just pure aromas, herbs, and spices. Natural yet domesticated. To give those who don't know it a rough idea: In my first impression, this Fougère reminded me of Poivre Samarcande by Hermes and also slightly of Terre d'Hermes. At least the basic tendency is correct. Especially with Poivre. Fougère has in common with the Hermes fragrances that it has nothing intrusive about it at all. And yet it has true omnipresence. That is fantastic. Furthermore, just like the mentioned Hermes scents, for me it is a fragrance for the whole year and almost every occasion. For whatever reason - it is a chameleon and truly works all the time.

Conclusion: If you like Fougères - PLEASE try this. It is a dream. Best quality at a price that you can hardly say out loud... 100ml Cologne for EUR 5 plus EUR 4 for a wonderful, solid glass bottle with a spray. I still can't believe it.
Please try it out, you men with style. It is really worth it.

Confusion cleared, riddle solved - happy!
It has been discussed here many times. Which of the fragrances from the seemingly endless product range is the original formulation from the 50s....
I know it now.
But how did I suddenly come to test Tabac Original? Well, quite simply. It is the scent of my father, my childhood. And I loved it. So both. My father and the scent. For a long time, I hadn't made any attempts to test Tabac. And that’s because my mother told me several times that it was no longer the perfume my dad wore. Too much has changed...... And she is right. But: It still exists! The scent that I know and love. I now know what my mother did wrong. She, just like I did recently, smelled the Eau de Toilette. And that is really not Tabac. It is almost just a hint, a breeze. One could almost think that I am not perceiving it properly...... No, that is not my Tabac. None of the prominence, the sharpness, the spiciness, the depth. None of that incomparable classic scent. Of this jewel.
Well, how can I then say that the original Tabac scent still exists? You already know.....:-) Because I owe it to YOU that I rediscovered it. It’s quite simple - reach for the Cologne and leave the Eau de Toilette aside. Or even the After Shave, if you prefer something lighter. I must confess, I NEVER would have thought that. Without you, I would have continued to stumble in the dark. As a fan of intense scents and long-lasting fragrances, I really would not have chosen a Cologne over an Eau de Toilette on my own. But you are RIGHT. THIS is TABAC ORIGINAL! That’s how my father smelled. Simply wonderful. Here it is again, the depth. Rich and classic, elegant and extravagant at the same time. I am really happy and have fallen in love again immediately. The Cologne simply outshines the Eau de Toilette! Tabac Original is unjustly categorized in the cheap range of drugstores. It easily competes with the most expensive perfumes. Tabac is a classic and will always remain one. It clearly has the potential to be a signature scent! Thank you.

Beautiful Oud Scent, buuuut....
Yes, what is the big but? Typical for me once again is the longevity. At least after today's test.....

The scent itself is excellent. For this incredible price, you get a wonderfully beautiful Oud fragrance. No frills. Very classic, very noble, dark and woody. Wonderful Oud, which in my understanding also smells of high quality. Reminds me of some extremely expensive niche perfumes. With Oudy, woods are the main focus. No unnecessary sweetness, nothing really floral. More smoky and intense.

If.... yes if only it would last longer. For me, the pleasure was over very quickly today. But due to its very beautiful composition, Oudy will definitely get a few more chances to prove itself. Maybe my skin just had a bad day today. .....:-)

(By the way, I am talking about the spray version...)

Clove Excellent
Although tastes vary, I cannot understand why this wonderful scent is associated with stale flower water. There are really no parallels....
This is, in my opinion, an excellent clove fragrance. Yes, quite soliflore yet beautifully crafted. In my perception, clove simply smells like this. Dreamily spicy, a bit smoky, intriguing, dark. It reminds me of some fragrance by Lorenzo Villoresi that contains clove. This perfume is simply wonderfully classic and straightforwardly good. Period. If you don't like clove, that's a different matter. However, if you have an idea of what to expect from a clove scent, then you will recognize that this one is very successful.

The World Belongs to Us
Even though I wouldn't wear this fragrance today, as my olfactory understanding has simply evolved in a different direction, I still have memories connected to Kenzo pour homme. For me, it is undeniably part of the 90s. This scent was different from anything known before. It simply meant vacation, sun, sea, and beach. Party. I found it just delicious. Sooo pleasant and pure sea. For whatever reason. I loved this fragrance and enjoyed the summer with it. Every time a trip to the sea was coming up, I would get this fragrance beforehand. The scent was for me the epitome of aquatic freshness. Paired with something mysterious. Attractive. Kenzo is young, active. It implies athletic bodies, tanned skin.....yes, a lot of bare skin. Not sultry and dirty erotic, but clean and bright and at the beach during the day. In any case, there was always vacation and carefreeness in my thoughts when I smelled this perfume. Laughter. Yes, somehow it fit back then. I was young and often enough out partying. I didn't think too much about fragrances. I didn't have such high expectations or need stories, backgrounds, or philosophies. It smelled sexy and good. That was enough. Period. Today it wouldn't work anymore. Although I still perceive Kenzo as pleasant smelling. In the hope of not offending anyone, I no longer see this fragrance as a perfume today. Not in my conception of it. It is more a temporary feeling of life. A faded memory that is beautiful but insignificant. We were young and carefree. Just like Kenzo pour homme....
