A little rant

I have written about my issues over on Fragrantica, but I feel like venting here as well.

I had the pleasure to visit San Diego with my sister this past week. It was nice to get away from the bitter cold and bask in the sunshine and 70 degree F weather. I also visited LA for a few hours to see my family, and it was a joy to see them--I wish we could have stayed longer.

On my last day, my sister had an earlier flight as she lives farther from California than I do. So I had about 4 hours to burn before heading over to the airport. I browsed the mall near the hotel, and I found a Nordstrom. I was the only customer in the fragrance department, but the sales reps were casual and let me sniff without interruption. I took a liking to and purchased See by Chloe, Issey Miyake Pleats Please, and stila creme bouquet. Now I wouldn't have bought these if they were available in my state. But they weren't, so I happily bought them. I packed all three carefully among the folds of clothes in my luggage; and when time came to check-in at the airport, I checked-in my luggage to follow the rule that you cannot carry liquids more than 3 oz or liquids than cannot fit in a clear quart sized bag.

Fast forward 8 hours later. I arrived home, and I unzipped my luggage. I know it was a long flight with some turbulence, but my bag was clearly rifled through. The receipt for my perfumes was crumpled when I know had it folded nicely next to one of the perfumes earlier. I found the See By Chloe in the corner of my suitcase where I left it, but the other two were missing. I even dumped al my clothes on the floor and searched the legs of my pants in the even that somehow they ended up in there...but no. I was devastated.

I have filed a complaint with the airline, and I'm waiting to hear back from someone about it. I know it was not the TSA's fault because I have had my luggage checked by them twice before, and they leave a notice in the bag; also, they do not sift through one's items like whoever did through mine.

I'm generally not a positive thinker, and most likely the airline will say I'm sore out of luck. But I am grateful that other things did not go missing, like my license, credit cards (I had those on me of course), or my flat iron...haha.
