I visited Saks for the first time.
I was in downtown Phoenix for a couple of hours to do some work training. Since the office is a considerable distance from my home, I decided to peek around at some shops downtown. I stopped into Saks.
Holy hell, I felt like a peasant when I walked in there. I had never been in a Saks before. At the fragrance counters, there were By Kilian, Chanel, Bond No. 9, Cartier, Versace, and countless other perfumes I could never afford. I didn't sniff anything because I was too timid and I was sure someone would try to convince me to buy something. I went to the second floor with all the designer clothing; the place looked immaculate and just like the pictures I have seen in fashion magazines. The Chanel section was so neat; I didn't dare touch anything in case I accidentally drop it.
So the point of this blog was to say that I find the whole concept of perfume buying so less daunting when purchased online or discussed among other perfume lovers. But when it comes to going to a store, I freeze up or become intimidated by my surroundings. Does anyone else feel this way?
