Cola, Aramis, and the Eau Sauvage I've always wanted
First, this is based on the current formula in those 1.7oz little square bottles, mine was a 2023 batch.
I first got intrigued by AC smells good channel when he talked about what a beast this is. Then I pulled the trigger.

Upon very first spray, you can tell an immediate familiarity to Aramis. However, I will tell you why this is better. Aramis has this cheap, vulgarness to it. I don't know why that is since they smells so similar but I think Azuree comparatively smells cleaner and more elegant. I think that's caused by a more prominent basil and artemisia note that makes the scent has the lift to it. Where as Aramis just feels kinda dirty and old school 70s. Azuree smells timeless to me.

Another interesting thing is that Azuree when smelled in the air has this cola vibe to it. At least to me. A lot of fragrantica dramatic reviewers say this is super bitter. I don't know what they're talking about but I smell this herbal sweetness from basil and the florals. Clove is not listed but I get that clove smell, and that's what makes this have a cola vibe to me.

I love Eau Sauvage EDT, but I absolutely hate it for its poor performance. Additionally, Eau Sauvage tends to get a bit boring because how lemony that thing is. So Azuree essentially strips off that big lemon, adds a lot of body because of the oakmoss and artemesia.

I'm a man and I have to say this really does not strike me as a feminine fragrance at all. I don't mind feminine fragrances, in fact I think No5 EDT and Shalimar are very beautiful scents and I think I can pull them off easily. But even for the bros who are concerned about coming cross as wearing a woman's fragrance, Azuree will pass your test. This smells more manly and authoritative than Bleu de Chanel, Dior Sauvage, Aventus combined. If Tom Ford repackages the bottle and sell it for 500 bucks in their private line this would be hyped more but hey. I don't mind buying this at 50 bucks from ebay.

Performance is beastly and I think it would be gorgeous to wear in high humidity high heat conditions. where I am is winter right now, can't wait for summer to come to wear this.

The Driest
So I bought this and had high hopes based on the notes breakdown. And I must say it did not disappoint.

The opening was a blast of pimento / rainbow bell pepper and lemon. It somewhat reminded me of Habit Rouge EDT's opening (don't worry this smells nothing like Habit Rouge if you don't like that)

Then comes this lemony, mineral-like, bitter, dry Olibanum. I want to emphasize how DRY this perfume is. The opening is the only time you get a hint of dewiness from that pimento but the whole journey is like walking through a complete desert. Hot, dry, ambient, reflective.

This smells quite different on skin vs clothes. On skin, I lose the olibanum a lot faster and the whole scent is taken over by an ultra-dry, woody faceted labdanum. On clothes, I find the olibanum lasts a lot longer.

For that reason, I think I'll wear this on clothes more since I really enjoy that lemony olibanum.

I think the whole scent is simple, by that I mean you can detect the notes very distinctly from each other. The scent has a beautiful transformation from opening pepper, heart olibanum, and base labdanum.

If you like Interlude Man, but find the projection a bit too much and unwearable, try this. I think this is an elegant, office-friendly version of Interlude you can enjoy. Very long lasting but projection is never above 3 ft.

Worth the money even at retail IMO, because HdP's pretty generous with their juice amount and you don't need a lot of sprays for it to last.

I hate this.... 7 bottles later
So the title is definitely not clickbait. When I first got this frag it was in 2020 based on Chaos Fragrance's recommendation. When I got it and applied, I thought it smelled quite weird and synthetic, but I was watching more positive reviews to reduce buyer's remorse and decided to keep it.

Surprisingly, this was my very first compliment getter, so that gave me more reason to keep it. However, every time I spray it, I have to convince myself it smells good. Now that--is a major sign that you actually don't enjoy what you're wearing

Long story short, I sold it eventually. However, repurchased it based on another fragrance reviewer "Early Greek". Then the same story happened. Then I repurchased it again based on ATH's review, then sold it. Then repurchased it again based on AC Smells Good's review, then sold it again...........LOL the cycle repeats.

One day as I was wearing it, mentally toughing myself to think this smells good, I was like... WTF am I doing this? Such an abusive relationship. And I got rid of it for good.

I think this is a testament to the power of fragrance reviewers and how something that supposedly smells good to everybody else puts tremendous pressure on you to feel the need to agree and "get your taste up to their levels". But I want to say something very honest about this particular frag:

WHAT A CHEAP , SOUR AND STERILE SMELLING MESS! Now I consider myself having a good taste in perfumery since I can appreciate Habit Rouge and Chanel No 5 edt and the likes. But PE represents really the blue fragrance before blue fragrances came about. It is uninspiring. Now, I wish the lavender comes through more but for the majority of this fragrance you smell this watery geranium that smells like ammonia-drenched plastic. I also don't get ANY sandalwood or amber. Sometimes when the days are favorable the lavender peaks through and I can genuinely enjoy it for a few seconds before that geranium takes over.

So you are warned, traveler, please think twice about jumping on the hype train and buy this. As someone who has had and sold 7 bottles, I can proudly say, this sh"t sucks.

Better than the original
I think the OG le male smells very synthetic. Yeah it's a classic and it smells good but to me if I smell it more than a few minutes I get somewhat nauseous .

This parfum version does not remind me of the OG at all, it's its own thing. I get a very pleasant boozy vanilla, lifted by a sour-smelling cardamom that keeps it from being too cloying. Very long lasting and projects beautifully.

I think Iris and lavender are there but they are supporting the vanilla.

The entire composition smells natural, that's the biggest plus for me personally.

Can wear this in any weather below 80 degrees I think.

Someone said it before...Curry!
I was really expecting a lot from this fragrance as some of my favorite reviewers were hyping this up. I think my taste is at least decent as I enjoy habit rouge and bel ami.

I must admit I am so glad I did not blind buy a big bottle of this..

I do not get any prominent lavender or vanilla. I do get a strong thyme and some sort of curry-like smell. I don't think this is animalistic, nor do I detect any cumin body odor stuff but it sure smells like curry spice. Way underneath buries a dry lavender smell sweetened ever so lightly by vanilla.

And that's where the problem is, to me this does not smell like the price tag.

Bel Ami Vetiver, for example, smells on par if not more expensive than this. Additionally, the curry note is somewhat sickening.... it's like a powdery, stale old, curry...

anyways, kudos for people who can genuinely enjoy this, i wish I were one of them.

Lastly, projection is pretty limited but longevity is ok.
