Fire Island? More like Istanbul in the summer heat...
"The scent of Fire Island reminds one of beach, summer, and luxurious sunscreen."
Beach and summer? True. Imagine this: it's 40 degrees in the shade outside. We are in Istanbul. A wonderful, intense, pulsating city. It's 4 PM: RUSH HOUR. After a day of shopping, we are completely exhausted and just want to get back to the hotel and take a shower. Everything is sticking to us, and in the heat and traffic chaos, the air in the city is stagnant. The air has become so hot that breathing is difficult. We can't get a taxi in the chaos and have to take the public bus to finally get to the hotel for a shower. The bus is bursting at the seams, but indeed: a seat! The air in the bus is driving us insane, and suddenly it happens: a traditionally dressed, somewhat corpulent lady sits down next to us, and a huge cloud of musk takes away our last breath... that's how Fire Island feels to me!
Ah, I forgot the sunscreen: the "sunscreen" is more like a burn ointment that you apply after sunbathing for a slight burn.
I am a sincere Bond No.9 fan, but honestly: Fire Island in summer and I’m outta here. I really can't stand it!

Budget Fragrance with Potential
One thing upfront: I bought 30ml for 9.90 euros without testing it beforehand, just picked it up as a "bycatch." I am very positively surprised!
Okay, when a company from Mittelbach near Chemnitz chooses the name "Bruno BANANI" for its men's underwear line, that's already bold but waaaay far from Chanel, Dior, and the like.
But: Not everything that comes from Germany and is cheap is bad.
Long story short: I think the fragrance is great. It fits in the realm of "JOOP! Homme" and "Le Male" and is very warm, but not too sweet.
The grapefruit and mandarin hold back discreetly and let the anise and bergamot take center stage. Jasmine, cedar, amber, musk, sandalwood, and vetiver create a solid, pleasant foundation.
My conclusion: Enjoyed in moderation, it's a great office scent, suitable for everyday wear and "a little high dosed" also offers something warm and sensual for the evening.
(And just between us two - from writer to reader - the ladies really do react to the fragrance! When asked "WOW, what fragrance is that?" the response is casually "Pure Man by Bruno Banani. I also wear the matching underwear, would you like to see?" or just very briefly "do you like big bananas?" God forbid, that was a joke!)

Liquid Vacation to Spray On
I haven't had CK One (the classic) for a long time, after smelling it on everyone during the summer for years.
The 2009 summer edition is wonderfully light, tropical, and reminds me of a beach bar in the Caribbean.
After spraying it on, I first thought: Mojito to spray! Then it turned out to be more like Long Island Ice Tea in my nose. Well, rather a combination of both.
The top notes of cucumber, lime, and mint create a desire for vacation, and with the heart and base notes, everything dissolves into even more pleasure, feeling clean, straight, and suitable for the whole day-the typical CK One scent.
100ml of liquid vacation to spray on! If someone is looking for me, I’m quickly at the beach bar :-)

The classic CK One with a summery twist
I bought "CK One Summer 2008" because I found the design of the bottle and packaging so great (I think the gradient bottles of the other "CK One Summer" editions look cheap and uninspired) AND because it was very affordable at 22.50 euros for 100ml.
But now... The scent. Wonderful! Summer, water, and LIGHT fruity notes. Right after spraying, I notice the very balanced aqua notes and a really nice hint of watermelon. After a while, mint and cucumber come through. Everything remains wonderfully light and summery.
In the base note, the classic CK One scent reveals itself.
When I smell "CK One Summer 2008," I think of summer, a fresh sea breeze, a minty mojito in hand, and nice "locals" selling fresh fruit on the beach...
In the coming days, I’ll be going back to the crime scene :-) I need to have another bottle, one for enjoyment and one for keeping. It’s true: the perpetrator always returns to the crime scene.

90ml for 19.95 euros? You can't go wrong, right? OH YES, YOU CAN!
Laura, Roma, Roma Uomo, Aqua di Roma Uomo are all really great fragrances in my opinion, so I thought I couldn't go wrong with 19.95 euros for 90ml of EdT.
Okay, it’s not that bad, but it is a disappointment and rightly taken off the market. I sprayed the fragrance this afternoon and now, as I think about how to comment on it, I can only come up with: nothing special.
Right after applying, it was somehow synthetic, unnatural. No trace of coconut or even lime. It faded very quickly, which you really wouldn’t expect from Opoponax, patchouli, sage, vetiver, and incense.
Maybe the other Biagiotti fragrances set the bar too high, but Biagiotti Due Uomo is for me bland, unremarkable, and nothing I would recommend. What a shame...
