Unusable
As I indicated in the title, I find this perfume unusable. I don't like the scent at all; all I can smell is freshly ground coffee beans and nothing else. I don't detect any sweetness, caramel, etc. anywhere.
More than one person, upon smelling it, has told me that it smells like liquorice, but I disagree. To me, it smells like freshly ground coffee beans.
As for its performance, it's absolutely impressive (which in this case is not a virtue). It's the strongest perfume I know (and I know many). Just touching the cloth cover it comes in leaves you smelling of it, and I'm not exaggerating. I can't see any occasion when this could be used, either for its scent or its performance.
Not for me
I had it and sold it. The scent is very similar to Reflection (which makes sense, since it's a flanker), perhaps a little darker and deeper. When you apply it to your skin, it feels much oilier and your skin shines for several minutes. It promises great performance, but that's where it ends. It doesn't last longer than Reflection or project more, which is a shame because a Reflection Beast Mode would be a perfume I would always have in my collection. In my opinion, it doesn't justify its price. I'd rather buy two bottles of Reflection. I'm not a perfumer, nor do I have any idea how perfumes are made, but is it so difficult, with this price and this scent (it's not a citrus scent), to make something with truly good performance?
The best?
I have had all three Interlude flankers (the 53 only the official 10 ml sample) and right now I only have Black Iris left. After several uses and tests, I like all three, but this one is my favourite and right now it is the only Interlude I have left in my collection.
I find it more wearable, I also like the scent better (although all three are very similar in my opinion) and it performs very well too. I think you can't go wrong with any of the three flankers, and if you're a big fan of this scent, it might be worth getting all three. I've kept Black Iris.
Always clean
I think it's a well-rounded perfume. Aside from the notes, it has a clean, neat, fresh, luminous fragrance, etc. It's ideal for almost any occasion (perhaps not so suitable for winter evenings, but only because there are better options). For everything else, it's perfect. No one will ever say you smell bad, quite the contrary.
As for its performance, I disagree with what people say. I use it from 7:15 in the morning and I can smell it all day long. Maybe it doesn't project, I don't know, but I can smell it practically all day long, and for me, what matters is that I can smell it and enjoy it myself.
The answer is no
For me, it's a resounding no. I had high expectations, but after trying it, I found it quite unpleasant. It's a strong blend of spices and citrus, and when I say strong, I'm referring more to the aroma than the perfomance (which is quite good, by the way). It's definitely not a blind purchase. Maybe it's because I'm used to sweet tobacco perfumes and it's my fault.
