The most realistic olibanum (frankincense) and cedar!
With the most authentic incense (olibanum) and cedar that I have ever tested.
Only Sorcinelli with al or Unum can be so realistic.
But what petit grain is in it and what labdanum...
It also has slightly animal accents, but discreet!
Never pushy but always present, Shanaan M. Micallef.
PS: I have known all types of coniferous resins since I was a child, my father was an engineer in the wood factory, back in my hometown, and I was there as a child, all types of coniferous and deciduous trees were there, that realistic smell of fir, spruce, hornbeam, found here and in many other creations.
Not to mention birch, ash, beech, oak...
Shanaan remains a true manifesto dedicated to the sacred resins of the East and also a pleasure for lovers of the genre, including myself!
Forever!

THE AMBER!
I love Sheldrake style on Serge Lutens. Serge Lutens is a truly niche house, period.
One of the first niche house concept, back in 1990s.
Sheldrake has been working with Polge in the 80s, when he was at Chanel Creative Parfume Department, so he is certanly skilled.
Ambre Sultan its one of their signature perfume, one of their first creations that stood the test of time and that offered the current amber trend, post 2000, resinous, balsamic.
This is deep, rounded, balsamic with a lots of layers, smoky, opulent and spicy! The perfect amber for the resins lovers!
I love the new bottle design even better, and i find their classic to be perfect intact in their new 2018-2019 bottle changed. I aint understand the madness of the people who crave only for the old bottles, they”re out of their mind, in my humble opinion, because Serge keeps his formula in very good condition!
This is a 10/10 for me!

Why Demachy its a genious parfumeur!
Demachy perfect craftsmanship!

Today, I come across a discontinued one that many regret, because it is an impeccable perfume! Dior Fahrenheit Absolute !!! Released in 2009!
It's love at first glance, opulent, resinous.
The dream Fahrenheit violet remains and is enhanced by a myrrh like the one used in eau Sauvage Parfum 2012 and we also have incense with oud. The mix feels resinous/ a little sweet added by the myrrh and amber, and of course heavy balsamic.
Phenomenal!
Francis, if you read these lines, please, reintroduce this perfume back into production, we still have hope to resurrect this under the graveyard !

The most realistic Ink rendition ! Lalique Encre Noir!
I strongly believe that this creation is one of the most realistic renderings of the smell of fresh fountain ink, the one used both for writing, for the older generations, I know exactly what I mean! The classic writing, from the past, as I am also part of the Millennials (1981-1996).
Iso E is great together with 2 types of Vetiver from Java and Haiti, it works great, no touch of sweet, no tonka and thank god they didn't throw in a vanilla! This means Lalique Encre Noire, in the free translation from French it means: black ink.
A perfectly added cypress, green and evergreen, enough to heighten the woody and earthy experience even more, and Javanol and Casmeran make it slightly metallic but also wet, with real wet facets.
A daring creation with a budget to match for the year 2006, which was the source of inspiration for the much more expensive Chanel Sycomore that appeared in 2008, 2 years later!
Understand what you want, but Lalique also gave currents and genres in perfumery!
Lorson, the brilliant perfumer!

The perfect fougere: Lalique Pour Homme Lion EDP
Yes, you hear it right, i think this is the perfect multidimensional fougere in this genre! Lalique, what a house, with more than 130 years of history.
Lalique its also visible, without question, within their perfumes.
This is an absolutely uncompromising creation, the great perfumer Maurice Roucel, who makes perfumest since the 70s, managed to bring an ode, to the classic male perfumes from the 80s, achieving a masterpiece, in 1997!
The theme is excellently chosen, the bottle is pur Lalique, their own creation, the embossed lion makes this bottle one of the most beautiful perfume bottles created.
The perfume begins with green, evervescent and sharp notes, the lavender is as French as possible, the herbal elements through rosemary and citrus begin excellently, followed strongly from behind by a healthy dose of oak moss, at least in the vintage bottle I have , from 2003, absolutely yellow-brown in color, the dose of oak moss is generous and gives the perfume depth and sharpness.
An iris, perfectly centered by Roucel, as creamy as possible but dusty at the same time, all placed on a creamy base of real ambragris (in the old versions) and a vanilla with a sandalwood, flawless!
The perfume has a backbone, it has everything it needs to design and accompany you all day!
Superlative performance and I think it is the best fougere in this area!
Congratulations to Lalique and the perfumer for this creation!
