Galadriel's luminous essence
When I want to feel like an elven queen clad in white robes, striding through sunlit arcades in Rivendell while the sound of a waterfall resounds in the distance, I wear Liu. Between dreamland and reality in a state of deliberate indulgence in a state of longing for a reality of all-encompassing peace; with yourself, the world and the people around you.
Perfection, honor, sublimity, holiness, grace, humility. Something rare, seemingly lost in this world...more precious than any gemstone; a courageous heart. Courage to be vulnerable, courage to resist injustice, courage to speak the truth. The hope for good in the face of suffering. The feelings a fragrance can trigger never ceases to amaze me. I have rarely experienced such delicately combined fragrances and the perfume resembles the art of silk embroidery that has been worked on for years. No fragrance stands out. Every edge and corner has been sanded down and polished smooth. Together, they create a fragrance that seems to have been inspired in its completeness.
Aldehydes for beginners with ultra-soft citrus gently launch the throbbing floral-powdery chypre heart on the vanilla-amber-woody bed. Rose, iris, jasmine, orange blossom and ylang ylang are also present. Not old-fashioned, not granny, not rancid make-up bag. No, the fragrance seems surprisingly modern to me. Gentle, airy, well-groomed, fragrant, powdery, pure and clearly feminine. I like the fact that I can't smell any specific spices. In other Guerlain women's fragrances, I have occasionally been bothered by an overly strong clove or aniseed note. For me, this one is like the prototype women's fragrance and embodies femininity like hardly any other fragrance. No pink, squeaky-sweet girly stuff. No, this one has elegance, class, style and oakmoss; but not a hint too much. No attention-grabbing sillage, no oppulence, no higher, louder, further, but a noble understatement with staying power. You get outstanding quality at a good price here.
This type of fragrance reminds me of Chanel No5 Eau Première. Not so much the No5 Eau de Parfum or Eau de Toilette, as these have a little more spiciness and warmth for me. This fragrance is certainly inspired by Chanel's No5 concept, but not copied and if it is, Jacques Guerlain has perfected it for my taste.
I am delighted to have discovered this as yet unknown treasure and am thrilled to have found something in the chypre genre that I like so much.

Zeitgeist in a bottle
Anyone who describes this fragrance as mainstream is absolutely right. But it has been polished to a high gloss. Each fragrance component is finely regulated and creates a harmonious overall impression. As a daytime fragrance or signature for the young and young at heart. Not a great sensual seduction, but rather a gift of joy for dark and depressing days. Versatile and distinctly feminine.
If you want to forget the ugliness of the world for a few hours, this elixir transports you to a colorful magical land full of colorful, sweet-fruity fragrances that tumble tartly-funny over a huge flower meadow.
A rich it-girl in the ski resort. Everyone likes her, she's always polite, always in a good mood, sporty figure, expensively dressed. Nothing works under Wellenstyn. She drinks a hot punch (non-alcoholic) at the ski hut. You happen to stand near her, notice her scent and ask yourself: "How is it possible that a person can smell so good?" Her skin is as smooth and perfect as that scent. No corners, no edges. Fine and soft like a cashmere sweater. You'd like to be friends with her... to know what daily skincare she uses, what she eats, how often she works out, how many hours she sleeps, what toothpaste she uses to be so perfect with such ease and cheerfulness. If you pay her a compliment, her face lights up with joy and appreciation, as if she is hearing something nice for the first time in her life, because she is used to envy. That's how I imagine the wearer of this fragrance. That's not me, but I wouldn't mind becoming one either.
There is something so light-heartedly attractive about this fragrance without coming across as a deliberate seducer. This fragrance brings vibrant, buzzing, vibrant eroticism that you don't see coming. From the opening of the heart notes, I was completely smitten. I don't care how many hours I have to row on the galley called work to get to this treasure. The sails are set and I'm heading for buy-now-buy-later.
I haven't known this fragrance long enough to know whether it has potential for the long term. But that's how it is when you fall in love. All the voices of reason are of little help when the siren has already sung her song. That's when you plunge into ruin with enthusiasm and a grin on your face.
The fragrance is like setting off a firework. You spend a lot of money for a brief moment of breathtaking beauty. It is like a sparkle with many colorful facets, speckles and effects. Everything starts with a loud bang and it seems that the fragrance is blessed with an extreme sillage. WRONG! As strong as this fragrance starts, it unfortunately fades away just as quickly. In the first hour, the fragrance makes its grand entrance - at first I thought it was a club fragrance for going out. In the 2nd hour, however, it flattens out, but this is where I find it most pleasant: it is easy to perceive and the upbeat lily of the valley has calmed down. For the next 2 hours, you can only smell it when you hug someone. After that, it fades again and remains very close to the skin for another 3-4 hours. Unfortunately, it doesn't last any longer on me. An expensive understatement.
The bottle is adorned with six sparkling crystals and the writing is engraved on a gold-colored plaque. A small piece of jewelry that can also be used as a stylish decoration.
But let's be honest: despite all the enthusiasm for the fragrance, the performance needs to be tweaked - after all, it is a perfume, not an eau de toilette or an eau de parfum. I think the base notes should have been strengthened. Especially in this price range and fragrance concentration, you can expect a longer lasting and more intense scent. Perhaps layering it with Ambroxan would help. As the fragrance becomes very quiet after the first hour, it is suitable for any occasion. Even in the office, Elixir will not kill anyone.

A perfume with similar fragrance notes but significantly better performance, sillage and longevity would be: Rose Cherie by Guerlain from the L'Art & La Matière range. The same notes would be here: Raspberry, rose, violet, heliotrope, vanilla, iris, musk. If you like this scent, you have my unreserved recommendation.

For the female version of a Tommy Shelby
Danger is a fragrance for the female version of a Tommy Shelby. She enters the room, looks undercooled and yet everyone looks around for her. Perhaps also for Persephone from the Matrix. After all, like Monica Bellucci, this fragrance has a lot going for it and is also quite exciting. It strikes me as mature, self-confident, sexy, dark and mysterious. A fragrance that is not easy to forget. Self-confidence to spray on with an anti-gray mouse effect.
In my head, it conjures up the image of a seductive, dangerous Russian secret agent from a James Bond film, who sends shivers down your spine just when her eyes meet yours. Sexy and with such perfect elegance that you can only be intimidated.
My first impression of Danger: the strong, gourmand tonka bean of Good Girl Carolina Herrera has been neatly surgically removed and operated into Samsara. Samsara, yes, but in a softer form with more florality and a reduced sandalwood note. All this on a soft iris-vanilla-musk base with greatly increased powderiness and a little more fruity sweetness. I find the name very fitting. It popped into my head: "This is my favorite Roja!" But does it suit me? I'll have to try it out a few more times to find out. It's already similar to Samsara. But the legendary one has too strong, almost bitter a sandalwood note for me, which I can't cope with. The Roja seems younger and more modern. As much as I love Guerlain as a brand, I have to say that Danger is more rounded than Samsara. It's as if all the protruding notes have been filed down and harmonized. This results in a fragrance impression that doesn't scream: Oh sandalwood! But rather: Oh an interesting fragrance! Overall, I would classify it as more feminine than Samsara. I base this assessment on the stronger sweet, floral and powdery notes.

It lasts for over 12 hours on my skin. Sprayed on in the afternoon, I can still smell it on my arm the next morning. You can expect this performance for the price. The sillage is present for the first 7 hours, after which it is still perceptible when embraced.

I have often fallen in love with fragrances. Only to let them gather dust on the shelf after just one month. The 2 ml sample from the trial set will soon have to be replaced by a bottling. I don't want to put my bank account under the strain of buying a whole bottle. Maybe I'll end up preferring the Elixir, 51 or Enigma after all. I find them all very beautiful. But how good that there are so many other beautiful fragrances that are nowhere near as expensive.

Conclusion:
The quality of the fragrance is outstanding for me. It has a fragrance character that you don't smell on every street corner. The DNA is already known from Samsara, but has been perfected here to my taste. Danger is definitely worth experiencing. Great cinema for the nose.
