the perfect all-rounder
The citrus note at the beginning is indeed a bit sharp, but otherwise, it is a beautifully long-lasting fresh scent with a smoky note that gives it a certain masculinity.
In my opinion, the fragrance is wearable in any season and in any situation.
It is very similar, almost identical to an older batch of Aventus that I have compared several times with Club de Nuit at a good friend's place. I can hardly smell a difference except perhaps for the aforementioned initial citrus top note. Considering that Aventus has reportedly performed much worse since the brand was taken over by Creed, and the price is sometimes up to 10 times higher depending on the offer, I don't question which of the two fragrances I would wear.
Club de Nuit is the cheapest fragrance in my collection, but at the same time, it is the fragrance for which I have received the most compliments so far. I can think of at least five situations where complete strangers have approached me in public about the perfume. That has actually never happened to me with any other fragrance.
However, one must sadly say that the Aventus DNA has become quite well-known, certainly not as bad as with One Million or Sauvage, but the scent is definitely not as unique in my perception anymore.

Nevertheless, if I could only wear one fragrance, it would be this one, due to the price, the performance, and the beautifully versatile DNA.

perfect winter fragrance DNA with questionable longevity
For me, the perfect fragrance DNA for winter when looking for a vanilla scent. Primarily, I perceive vanilla here. Along with it, there’s cinnamon and tobacco. The tobacco is not as overpowering as, for example, in TF Tobacco Vanille, and the cinnamon is rather subtle. The scent feels very close to the skin, and the longevity is comparatively poor. This could, of course, be due to my batch. Overall, it’s a very nice winter fragrance that is more suitable for a relaxed evening on the couch, as it tends to fade in public. A little tip to finish: try layering it with an oud or amber oil; in my perception, the fragrance performs better without being overshadowed by the oil.

my favorite saffron scent
Since the beginning of my journey through the world of perfume, I have been particularly taken with sweet saffron scents. Baccarat Rouge, Instant Crush, Orodion, Stramonio, and Spice Bomb are all good sweet fragrances with saffron, but none have captivated me like Side Efect. If you are looking for a saffron scent without oud and feel that something masculine and dark is missing from Baccarat Rouge, this fragrance gets everything right.
