Watch your step! Chief's coming!
My first comment, and it probably doesn't tear out positive trees....

Our boss doesn't show up too often. Maximum 2x a week. Busy man. At first he often stood in front of us in a surprising way. Silently and inconspicuously appeared, almost like a ninja. So he disappeared a few minutes later. These times have changed because he has apparently discovered a scent for himself that works like an early warning system for us. At the beginning he only left a pile of Sillage - sometimes for minutes, although he was no longer present. If he enters the room he left before, there is first of all a greeting with a bat of smelling baseball. Often the question was "poah, did he shower in his perfume again today?" By now you know he's coming before you see him. The smell's in your nose before you can tell it's there. With the scent he would have been a bad ninja back then...

The joke is that at first I didn't know what kind of scent it was - the others didn't anyway, because they don't deal with scents. A) nobody dared to tell him that he should please use a little less of his perfume and b) especially I didn't want to ask what he uses - I'll call it discretion.

Some time later: I ordered a handful of bottlings - ignorant of how I am. Predominantly from Parfums de Marly. The Layton was really extraordinary, I liked it very much and hoped for more good scents. Godolphin was one of the candidates, Herod also joined in, Aventus von Creed was also allowed to take a seat. Two Tom Ford fragrances were also there, Oud Wood and Tobacco Vanilla.

But of course one of them was not to be missed: Pegasus. And he came with timpani and trumpets and played a whole orchestra on his own. I had this scent in my nose the whole time, with an almost insurmountable and not to be ignored penetrance. Suddenly I had a big aha effect. "Damn, you know that smell. Oh dear, you know this scent only too well!". Alarm lights went off, as with the said early warning system.

To get back to my boss: I think or no, I know by now that he certainly won't start tomorrow by beheading hundreds of bottles, tipping them into the tub and then bathing in them. This scent is just like that.

But what does the abstract description "just like that" mean? My modest nose says extremely fresh, almost clinking cold. It's absolutely room-filling, almost biting. Unfortunately for me it goes too much into the metallic and hardly changes - in my opinion. From 0-100 with metallic freshness in the face and remains felt eternally on the accelerator pedal. I was able to see it on my skin 16h later, which impressed me deeply, but PDM is known for its enormous durability. But unfortunately it is not one of these fragrances, which I would like to call my own for me personally.

The Chosen One
Loving, passionate, powerful but also arrogant and unstable, this is exactly what Pegasus reflects for me.

It reminds me of Anakin Skywalker before he became Darth Vader. It is so friendly, human and emotional, but at its core somehow threatening and caught in an emotional dilemma.

The fine vanilla that is always there does not disturb and is not sweet, rather a little like a closed pod, slightly woody. Behind it a very noble and much better Le Male takes place, just as sweet, but deeper and more gourmand.

The Sillage is extreme, a scent that really radiates strongly and fights its way out even under thick clothes.

The shelf life is about 9 hours before only vanilla and a hint of Tonka remain.

To me, the true hero of PdM. Other than Layton, which for me would rather reflect Luke Skywalker.

Like a silver sledgehammer
I recently received four original Marly samples with an online order. Although I ordered the Pegasus some time ago as a bottling at a perfumo and was therefore already well informed about the strong qualities of the winged horse, I was very happy about this "original product". I have to add that I have meanwhile refrained from ordering bottlings "privately", because more than once I had the feeling that the fragrances had lost their power and originality. I can't judge exactly what that is, but I've already missed many a fragrance, which I liked very much in the perfumery.

I found Pegasus already excellent in the bottling, in my opinion there is even more metal and sweet freshness in the original sample.
When I smell it, there is a feeling of sublimity and nobility that grips me immediately. I almost have the feeling that Pegasus is (self-)consciousness-expanding, it somehow enchants me. This sounds more esoteric now than I intended :-) With one exception I haven't smelled anything bad from Marly yet, but the Pegasus beats everything here.

However, I see one shortcoming: The opportunities to wear this power scent are rather small in my everyday life. He is too "bossy" for me to work, too intensive for eating and too heavy for leisure time.
We go to the Hamburg Press Ball once a year. It goes very well with a tuxedo, but a bottle would last about 200 years, which is unfortunately a bit too future-oriented.

So a really exquister, great and unique fragrance (I am aware of the proximity to Reflection, but find Pegasus more special) with impeccable durability and armor piercing Sillage. Priced for these qualities to represent absolutely.

Have a nice weekend

Sweet seducer
My 200th comment I dedicate to the fragrance of the brand Parfums de Marly, which I like so far best of this great brand. After I ordered the 4.fragrances as samples, which are so about my taste I must highlight this quite clearly. I will eventually order me a few samples of other this brand, however, I think less that I like the better than this.

The Pegasus and Layton fragrances are also very popular with designer fans. I feel the brand as a whole is high quality, but they could also be sold as designer fragrances under other names. What I have to say positive about this brand is the performance and the sensual aura. Simply great.

Now to Pegasus: this one was on my test list for ages, because it has a really good reputation. Likewise the fragrance pyramid meets my taste, especially for the evening and cold / cool days.
The bottle is noble as all. I know only from pictures, but matching the price and the noble fragrance an elegant typical PdM flacon. Here in great silver.
Excited at the first sprayer. He convinces me from the first second. He seemed familiar to me from the beginning. He einnert me slightly to my beloved Code Profumo by Armani. However, less brutal, softer, more sensual. It definitely starts a bit lighter, which could be due to the bergamot. A nice gentle sweetness accompanies this. Almond and vanilla can be smelled almost completely in the course of the fragrance. In a classy and elegant way. A slight rubber note a la Bvlgari Black also comes to mind, which I totally like. Lavender also comes out well here, which harmonizes with the sweet and spicy notes here. the almonds become stronger as it progresses and harmonize especially with the base of vanilla, amber and soft woods. Even though it has slight gourmand hints, it's not too gourmand. A sweet and spicy fragrance that convinces me all along the line. As I said, it reminds me of Code Profumo, only softer, which makes it a nice evening and date fragrance in particular. Even though it is very sweet and also has feminine hints, I find this one rather masculine. Ladies with preference to this pyramid can of course also test the.
The performance is really good here. Of the tested Marly fragrances the best so far. Sillage and durability are very very good, almost as good as my beloved Code Profumo.

On the whole, a fragrance that I can recommend. To the coming autumn / winter I will possibly secure me a bottle, because you get 75ml already around the 100 euros. Whether the actual price of 125ml/200 euros is justified, I leave here times open. Nevertheless, a successful fragrance that will convince many. Not only niche lovers.

The third in the alliance...inspires me most...
...and is for me also the best!
Yes, for me it is the most beautiful fragrance of the brand Parfums de Marly! Why?
First of all, I love Herod, Layton and Pegasus! Also the Layton Exclusif definitely has its raison d'être!
So why Pegasus? Why not Layton or Herod?
For me Pegasus has simply combined the most important points for me:
PROPERTY and at the same time MAINSTREAMING!
Yes, in principle all 3 have that, but PEGASUS is for me additionally the most UNIVERSAL of the three!

Of course there are alternatives (Hartley and Reflection Man), but the Pegasus has that certain something for me.
By the way, I also have the Reflection Man and find both different enough to own both.
Hertley's somewhere in the middle...

I don't know what the scent is, but Pegasus gives me this metallic cold in a very special way, but it's still warm, hard to describe!
Is it the bitter almond or the helitrop? I don't know!
But it's perfectly tuned for me. He will always have a place in my collection.
As already written, if I had to decide for a PdM...then it would be PEGASUS!

Anyone who likes PdM and doesn't know this fragrance: Test it!

Very similar to Reflection Man and Le Male. Not original and inferior to Reflection Man. Very long lasting with great projection.

It opens very spicy for later revealing a bittersweet almond. The bottom retains the almond and adds vanilla, amber and cedar. Supreme!

The opening is way too sharp and soapy, like a fancy bar of soap, you have to give it at least 20 minutes for the magic to kick in.

It smells to me like a cheap Amouage Reflection, not as pure or elegant, still a very good perfume though and deserve the 8.2 rating
