Overhyped and overhated! Is that even possible?
Recently, I ordered a few samples of Lv fragrances and with very mixed feelings, I smelled Ombre Nomad for the first time, and what can I say.
,,It is what you would expect from a high-quality Oud fragrance.''
The Oud is slightly animalistic, as it should be, and very well balanced. I only perceive the incense in the background, and I must be imagining the raspberry. A very clear and beautiful scent profile, with the Oud in the foreground. I have received almost exclusively compliments for the fragrance and personally find it to be a very successful creation. It is simply a good scent!
However, to be one of the best Oud fragrances ever, Ombre Nomad is just too unspectacular for me. There are now countless high-quality Oud fragrances that make the note of Oud an experience and have far more facets than this scent.
To answer the question in the title: Yes, it is possible. For me, this fragrance is overhyped and overhated. It is a great scent, and Oud is indeed a note that can also be polarizing. However, Ombre Nomad is not a fragrance that has never existed before and presents the Oud exceptionally well, at least in my opinion.
It is also important to mention that this is a very strong perfume, with extreme sillage and longevity, which makes this perfume unsuitable for certain occasions, such as sports. You will stand out with this scent, no matter how many sprays you use. But that should be clear to every Ombre Nomad buyer.

Not for the faint of heart
I got a sample from my trusted perfumery and I have to say, "just incredible." The plum combined with the oud is very unique and hits the nose directly. On my skin, it develops a slightly salty note, while the floral notes in the heart almost completely disappear.
It's a wild scent, for which I've received not only compliments. Still, I like it a lot. It has an experimental character that strongly differs from classic Douglas scents, and that's exactly what it should be.
It's a fragrance with presence, which was to be expected. As almost all reviews here confirm, you need a good amount of self-confidence to wear it and you also have to deal with the fact that for some noses, it’s not the dream scent, even if they are an oud fan.
In summary, it's a great, special fragrance that has a lot to offer. It doesn't suit every occasion and should definitely be left on the shelf if you decide to stay in the background despite having nerves of steel.
