The Scent of a Herbal Witch
I didn't dare to order this fragrance blind. I got my first sample in the souk and wow. How beautiful is this scent? Very green and herbal (is that even a word?). The angelica is prominent. Blackcurrant is only very, very faint. A wonderful, fresh vanilla. I see a herbal witch living in the woods with her cat and owl in her crooked little house... I don't know AN by Guerlain, but I've seen that both come from the same pen or rather nose. Definitely worth testing. I am so thrilled and am waiting for my 100ml, which I had to order right away. For just under 50 euros, this fragrance is magnificent. I also find the longevity really great. 3 sprays in the morning chase away worries and troubles, uh actually last until the evening.

I was born under a wandering star...
1992 as well. The year of my school enrollment and the year of my first loss. We often associate past years with certain events, whether they are positive or negative. I was just about 7 years old when I had to let my grandma and best friend go to the angels... does that have anything to do with the scent? PATIENCE, dear community. Angel starts off very sweet and very powerful. Perhaps the journey to the angels begins just like this. Then I smell honey and a lot of patchouli. If you don't like that, the journey is over for you. I remember exactly 1992 when I first saw this beautiful bottle. A star, where my grandma is now... But the scent was really yuck. So the child stuck with Oilily. Now, almost 34 years later, I still miss my grandma, but maybe I thought, maybe I could give Angel a try after all. And it was love. This is not a small, chubby winged baby angel. This is a bright, powerful angel. With a sword. And indeed all day long and beyond. 2 spritzes at most and perhaps not for every occasion, but I am glad I gave this scent a chance after all.

Vanilla in a Sea of Flowers
A blind buy. After initial disappointment from testing it on paper, I wore the fragrance on my skin today. Hello, spring. Wonderfully floral. A clean scent with very good longevity. The vanilla is subtly present, but remains less sweet behind a delicate floral note. It's a different vanilla than I usually prefer, but starting in March, this will be my fragrance. Recommended. Delicate woods round out the scent. It doesn't come across as fruity on me.

Ghost Train in a Bottle
A blind buy, yes I know... But wow, for just under 14 euros, it's a knockout and unlike any scent in my collection. Definitely not a fragrance for everyday wear and very specific. It has something, but what. A very heavy and spicy scent. I perceive a slight sweetness after the brutal opening. Is it the saffron? In a distant sense, the fragrance reminds me of root beer. This is what ghost train smells like to me. Heavy, woody, and somehow indefinable. I will probably wear it rather rarely. A spritz on my wrist has enveloped me for 10 hours and is only slowly fading.

Everything takes its time
As a big fan of Parfum Initial, I had already held my nose to the mother Shalimar years ago. I wrinkled my nose. Whoa, it's smoky. End of the journey. Now at 40, I thought it was time for a new attempt. Since I don't have the opportunity to test it locally here in the countryside, it became a "blind buy." The first spray on my wrist, DISAPPOINTMENT. Briefly smoky but then soapy, floral, grandma. A test on clothing didn’t improve anything. A few days passed, and I sprayed again. There it is. The smokiness stays with me, the rose is there, but significantly softened. It becomes more powdery than Parfum Initial but is quite pleasing. I am relieved; even the mother now pleases me very much. Does my review still need to be written? Probably everything has already been said, but my learning effect might help others. Don’t throw in the towel right away. Sometimes the bottle just needs to catch its breath.
