African ball or better spa in tropical paradise?
In my mind, an African ball is loud, colorful, very colorful and exotic with a lot of joie de vivre. Loud and colorful (depending on whether you associate scents with colors; I actually do), Bal d'Afrique is not at all. Fortunately, I don't like loud, penetrating scents. When I smell Bal D'Afrique I see something white to lemon colored. The opening captivates with a slight citrusy from the bergamot and then transitions into a soft pineapple and coconut scent (which is not listed), but it is not sweet, it is very pleasant. Mentally, I am immediately on a tropical island with a pineapple cocktail in hand and the spa already waiting for me. The fragrance definitely puts you in a good mood and you can also smell the African joie de vivre and exoticism. However, it is not loud and colorful. This also fits the mediocre H&S, which is typical for Byredo fragrances, although Bal D'Afrique already plays in better durability spheres. It is a rather quiet exotic feel-good fragrance in a tropical paradise that exudes good humor with every sniff.

The almost perfect autumn / winter fragrance
It starts with a tangy orange and then goes into enveloping chocolate before the feel-good vanilla shows up. The fragrance is never too sweet or too loud and is the perfect autumn and v.a. pre-Christmas companion. The durability is with me but unfortunately not quite as good, v.a also for the price. 4-5 hours I can perceive the grandiose fragrance unfortunately only. If the durability were better, it would be a 10 out of 10 candidate. Nevertheless, I have fallen in love with this security giving fragrance and the bottle I also like very much. For the colder season definitely giving warmth.
