The Perfume Jungle - Infinite Horizons
... We are in the present. These are the adventures of the clairvoyant, who tests perfume daily to discover foreign worlds, unknown scent compositions. The clairvoyant ventures into galaxies where, fortunately, other fragrance enthusiasts are also exploring.
Bracken is a scent that immediately captivated me, irritating, fascinating, enthralling.
When sniffing from the sprayer, I first noticed the laundry note. Aha, so it's a so-called clean scent. Well, that can wait a bit, I thought. During my scent search this morning, I wanted to take a closer look and realized with just a tiny spritz on my wrist that the fragrance is a surprise package. Completely different from what I expected. I had a laundry association as well, but it was more like laundry that was put away a bit damp and thus has a slight musty smell. No, that can't be. I'll try again later after showering. Said and done, and I continued with my morning routine in the bathroom. Oh, leather, and quite a bit of it, but only if I get my nose really close. Otherwise, delightful scent clouds waft from my wrist, which actually remind me a lot of Eden. A very friendly floral interpretation of the smell of the jungle. I had only had the opportunity to perceive the smell of the jungle once. To me, it smelled sweetly a bit stuffy, animalistic, plant-like, and at least threatening enough that one didn't feel the urge to enter that jungle. With Bracken, it’s different; you feel welcome and somehow familiar.
A brief interruption in my carousel of thoughts... have I actually put hair gel in my hair... I really don’t know... Bracken has me captivated. Never mind, I’ll use some hair gel again... the thoughts swirl, the scent occupies my mind.
I get into the car, quickly away from the sleet and back into my friendly fragrant jungle. Have I actually passed the stinking biogas plant?... I wanted to switch to recirculation... oh... already past. The scent captivates my thoughts; I feel gently embraced by green vines. These emerge like in 3D, carried by the floral heart of the fragrance. Incredible what images this scent evokes in me. It impresses me and makes it a little masterpiece for me.

Beautiful Leather-Frankincense Scent
Since the statement is too short for my impressions, this will be a brief comment. Anubis gets straight to the point for me right after spraying: pure leather! The top and heart notes are skipped. I don’t find the leather as harsh as in Irish Leather, but also not as soft as Italian Leather by Memo. The sillage can definitely be described as strong, but decreases over time. After about an hour, the saffron surprisingly makes its presence known loudly and pushes the leather into the background, which I find a bit unfortunate. After about 1.5 hours, I perceive an extremely pleasant, rounded, and appealing warm frankincense along with the leather. I can't detect opoponax. My nose is still too inexperienced for that. I could imagine that it contributes to the current charming character of Anubis.
In conclusion for me, a very beautiful scent with varied development. However, a must-have reflex does not set in. Thank goodness at that price.

Leap into the Past
Pierre de Lune is a fragrance for me that carries memories of subconscious past emotions. When I smell this scent on my skin, I am quite energetically catapulted into the past. At first, I feel a distinct coolness and distance that this fragrance radiates. I can wear this scent rather rarely because it is indeed exhausting to be confronted so abruptly with the past. Yes, this fragrance has something radiant, luminous, cool, and distant about it. However, the coolness and distance are just the outer shell, like the surface of the moonstone. If I decide to choose this fragrance for a day, I feel after a short time as if I am in a luminous, warming, radiant, elegant room, wonderfully enveloped.
A wonderfully intertwined mixture of iris, violet, and cassis. I cannot detect amber here. This fragrance truly has no edges, but it does have contradictions. Namely, the distance/coolness and yet warmth. I also find it hard to imagine something radiant without warmth, not even with the moon.
This fragrance reminds me of something I cannot fully grasp, but I can certainly sense it. I associate it with the feelings one experiences when the world is open on the way to one's self-determined life, when one makes one's own decisions and gets to enjoy the consequences. A feeling of freedom that is very valuable to me.
And that is why I am also sure that it will find its way into my collection in due time.
I almost forgot, I do not find this fragrance unisex, but clearly oriented towards femininity.

Beware - She is a traitor!
Habanita has great potential. The potential to reveal the inner self. So beware, she is a traitor. Those who do not wish for this should not engage with Habanita. Habanita stands for women with passion, the passion with which life is lived. The passion to go through thick and thin with the right person, always being by their side. Achieving goals with them even against the greatest resistance.
Habanita is the passion of a woman with which she protects and defends her children.
Habanita is the passion of a woman to achieve her goals even if the stakes seem too high in the eyes of others. Headstrong, stubborn, and yet considerate.
Habanita can be worn by women who know what they want and are electrifyingly feminine precisely because of that.
As for the scent progression, I can only agree with JOE.

Never Say Never
Actually, I would have never taken a closer look at this fragrance. If I hadn't been made aware of it by a lovely user.
When the fragrance hit the market, it was a "taboo" for me. I felt similarly to how many felt about Hypnotic Poison or Poison. Too many women wore this scent, and they were women I couldn't consider interesting. It seemed to me that this was a fragrance for women who scream for attention and need to be in the spotlight. I still believe that many wore this scent just because it is so striking. They might not have even particularly liked it.
Today, about 25 years later, I dared to take an unbiased look at it again. And I do not regret it :-). Such a soft, warm, feminine delight. I only perceive bergamot and neroli for about 5 minutes, then the fragrance transforms into this beautiful softness and femininity. Of course, with a sparing dosage in mind, at most 2 sprays. The longevity is enormous. I will wear this fragrance more often now and am happy about this new discovery for myself.
So, to all the traumatized: Dare to try it, it's worth it :-)
