Antaeus - memory and present, one era, one feeling, no end
Some fragrances stay with you for a lifetime without you even realizing it. Antaeus Eau de Toilette is just such a fragrance for me; not immediately, but...

I've been here at Parfumo since June 2024. At first, I just wanted to record my fragrances and use the tracker (I really do). Then I started browsing - as you do when you're new somewhere.

And then I came across Antaeus Eau de Toilette. The red packaging with the black border, plus the video from the advertisement from the past. I found myself back in the 80s and saw the child that I was and yes, the memory of that time came flooding back.

As a child, I often went to my uncle and aunt's house. My aunt had a bottle with a balloon atomizer, oh how exciting and interesting I found it back then. Unfortunately, I can't remember the fragrance itself, the name or the brand. Yes, and my uncle, he had Antaeus Eau de Toilette - heavy, spicy and earthy, just like my uncle.

Today, at the age of 47, I wear Antaeus Eau de Toilette myself. I wouldn't have worn it back then - too powerful, too "mature". Or maybe it is? Sometimes you don't realize it right away. in my twenties, Antaeus Eau de Toilette was more the scent of "grandpas" and "uncles". Now I wear it and am actually already an uncle and will continue to wear it.

Of course, Antaeus Eau de Toilette has been reformulated several times over the years, but the basic idea and the memories have played their part in the fact that I now have it in my collection too.

This one starts fresh and citrusy with bergamot, while myrrh and sage bring in the spicy aroma. In my eyes, it still lends strength and elegance, masculinity, that certain animalic feel. The base notes not only persist, but also develop over time - leather, patchouli, oakmoss.

Antaeus Eau de Toilette is classic, but not outdated, somehow also a touch modern. Back then it was my uncle, maybe J. R. Ewing - today it's me and hopefully many others who keep this fragrance in their collection.

The longevity and sillage are incredibly good - the price is in the "normal" range for me. Even at a higher price, I would buy it, because the memories and the feeling would be worth it.

My conclusion: get out your photo albums, indulge in memories - and also take a trip into the past present.

California trip
I was born in the late 70s and consequently grew up with the TV series of the 90s.

When I applied Pacific Chill for the first time and noticed it on me, I felt exactly that time. Nothing old-fashioned, no! I felt the freedom of that time, my teenage years. The Pacific coast, California, convertibles, sunshine - I saw it all before my eyes. The picturesque Pacific packaging certainly contributed to this. Like Dylan Mckay with his Porsche 356 Speedster for surfing, I embark on an olfactory journey along the Californian coast. Relaxed, not driven by the world, I drive towards a citrusy-fresh, spicy depth. The peppermint in combination with the airstream definitely has a cooling effect and continues to provide an invigorating freshness. I perceive a lot of citrus, sweetness and absolute fruitiness.
One of the best summer fragrances for me. My personal happiness is that the longevity in combination with my skin is excellent and therefore long-lasting. The sillage rating is the only thing that drops a little. This is not a big deal for me, as this fragrance is primarily intended to be perceptible in order to give me the feeling described above. Does Pacific Chill still stand out positively in my surroundings? YES, it does.
And so Pacific Chill, as a light fragrance, rounds off into a complex fragrance for the summer for me. So put it on, close your eyes and drive along the Californian coast in the 356. See you there.
