A Bold Start to a New Year 🏹
What a sensory adventure the year 2024 was to us. We discovered new brands, tested a boatload of fragrances, dug deeper into our new preferences and grew out of the old. And now 364 days of perfume discovery stand before us, they ask- how will you kickstart this new year in scent? My answer is with bold roses from the House of Rasasi.

Rasasi's Qasamat Morhaf is a fragrance I never thought I'd buy. If you follow my writing perchance, then you might remember that I wrote about taking a noseturn to roses in 2023. Out of the blue it seemed, my migraine brain suddenly detested even the merest hint of roses. I combed through my then-collection and discarded of every lover that would remind me of that dreaded note. Instead, I pursued tuberose with all my heart and desire. By the summer of 2024, that noseturn reversed and the appreciation for roses came back to me (imagine Celine Dion singing "it was gone with the wind, but it's all coming back to me now.")
In Morhaf, you are greeted with a honeyed, spicy rose and a warm but earthy patchouli. Yes, there is a present reminder of agarwood and raspberry, but the main protagonists are damask rose and patchouli. All other notes act as supporting characters or cannon fodders- green leaves that set off the brilliance of the red rose. All the perfumes in the Qasamat collection are individual in their own right, but to me, Morhaf makes the boldest statement.
As we flip open our 2025 calendars to kickstart a year that has never been, do so boldly. Challenge yourself to face whatever goal or task intimidated you in the past year(s)- dream big, stand tall, be realistic, plan boldly, and wear a fragrance today that will lift you up and straighten your shoulders.
Now that the fireworks are over and the prosecco bottles cleared up, what fragrance are you wearing to greet the first day of the New Year?
