Lovely scent
I love the scent. Although I do find it much more on the feminine side so perhaps for a male to were this, best would be winter, and colder seasons. It's pretty strong stuff indeed so this little 65 ml lasts a long time. Presentation looks really luxurious. I think the scent will appeal to almost anybody. The oud in here is very safe.

25 Degrees +? PLEASE NOT!
That's how I felt today when the sprayer of Qasamat Morhaf (QM) slipped from my hand!

I should have been warned about Arabic fragrances, that subtle scent notes might not necessarily be in the bottle, but what could happen? So I applied 4!!! FOUR!!! sprays on my inner elbow and shirt.

BOOM...Explosion...Roses are flying uncontrollably through the apartment...hitting me everywhere.
They just crash in, I am powerless.
But wait...what is this???
Sugar is raining down from the ceiling, piling up...suddenly I am knee-deep in sugar, from which roses are growing.

How do I get all this out of the apartment?

Despair sets in...through the window, I see bright sunshine...the thermometer shows 25 +...
Sweat beads are running down my forehead...my beloved comes in from the next room (is it because of the scent or my gasping? I don't know)

Her eyes widen and she exclaims, "Wow dude, what's going on with you?"....

Okay, now there's no time to lose...

I wade through a sea of roses, it's sticky...
My shirt was ripped off more than unbuttoned and with my last strength, I tossed it into the laundry basket....the door is closed...it's getting better.

Summary:
It may sound like it, but it's not a bad review :)

I only made 2 fundamental mistakes:

1. Overdosage
2. The wrong season

The scent itself I really like, but it is definitely (at least on my male skin) meant for winter and should be applied sparingly.
It is, as noted, room-filling.

Upon closer inspection, I also perceive other scent notes that only develop later.

There will also be a follow-up test in winter.
I firmly believe that the scent will perform better then!

At least I'm wiser now :)

Bois 'n Roses featuring S. Lutens
Wait a moment... no, this is not going to be a comment in English. If I could, I would write in Arabic.
But let's start from the beginning. I did a fragrance swap with a dear member of Parfumo (thank you, dear Michael). I chose this "Qasamat Morhaf" as my swap item. Only a tiny note was present on its side (see below), and THAT was decisive for my choice.
I love woody-herbaceous, rosy-floral, mossy-earthy scents.
I do NOT regret my choice. The fragrance lasts longer than I expected based on the statement.
Right from the first spray, I notice the concentrated load of ingredients that all land safely on my wrist. Without annoying initial bragging notes that seem to disappear as quickly as they appeared, but lurking to strike again.
With this "Rasasi," everything is harmoniously coordinated, with only the intensities of the main notes suggesting a so-called fragrance pyramid.
In the already woody opening, there is something like a minty overtone that could stem from geranium.
The ROSE itself suggests Turkish Rose or Damask Rose, so deep and "rose-spicy" does it come across.
Woods envelop it, it should be Oud, Cedar, and Sandalwood, of very high quality.
I enjoy the perfume and keep having a thought in the back of my mind...
"I feel like I have smelled a similar fragrance before... a long time ago... I don't know...
where and when...?" Then it comes to my mind: Lutens perfumes, the "wood phase" of his work... "Cedere" comes to my memory, as well as "Santal Majuscule"... exclusive and refined and not exactly cheap.
Qasamat al Morhaf could be the family tree of these two fragrances.
Not "copied," but as a foundation of Lutens' ideas, an inspiration for his own creations.
Rasasi, I think, incorporates a lot of old Arabic fragrance art into its perfumes. Many of them are only available in the corresponding countries.
With the slight opening to "Western" states, fortunately, such "treasures" are occasionally reaching us... fragrance treasures of the finest kind!!!

A Enrichment
The caravan makes its way through the desert. Flickering and shimmering, the outline of the destination emerges in the distance. A city, surrounded by high walls, built slightly elevated on a hill. Some towers of the palace rise majestically with golden roofs above the protective masonry. The city is under the firm control of the Sultan, a ruler who tolerates no breach of law. The X-shaped stakes driven into the ground, with the partly lifeless and partly still living bodies of those who have trampled his laws, speak volumes. Inside the ruler's house, preparations for the newcomers have been underway for days. Nothing is left to chance. The caravan, several miles away in the desert sand, is unaware of the bustling activity within the cool walls. The procession consists of dense columns of two. Riders clad in black on magnificent steeds adorned with jingling golden harness lead it. The ranks are interrupted a few positions towards the middle by a camel litter, flanked on both sides by another rider and at the equally long end by a special guard. Immediately behind the litter rides Arman, the man who has purchased the jewel within for the ruler at the slave market three days' ride from here. The arrival of the pirate ship with the noble lady from the West had spread quickly. In the city by the sea, known for human trafficking, many surrounding houses of rank and name have summoned their buyers to bid for her. As expected, the Sultan paid a considerable price for the human merchandise, and thanks to the numerous bidders present on the day of sale, one of them received the expected approval.
In a steady pace, the caravan continues to move towards the city in the distance. The lady inside the camel litter awaits her entry into the ruler's harem. There she will remain until his displeasure or her natural death.
Aman, the successful bidder, keeps the litter with the precious cargo in his sight without a second's lapse, fearing that if it were to be lost to theft, he might meet the same fate as the hanged men before the city gates. While the remaining guards keep an eye on the surroundings, he secures the human cargo. Time and again, a fragrance wafts from the interior of the litter into his face. Behind the airy, translucent veils in red and orange, weighted down with pearl strings and adorned with golden borders, he can make out the outline of the lady. Occasionally, a sparkle of her lavish jewelry glints in rhythm with the moving camel behind the curtains. But Aman is immediately distracted from the sparkle by the scent that envelops him. As an experienced advisor to the ruler in matters of culinary and olfactory arts, he knows the magic of scents of various origins and has greatly enriched the kitchen and the fragrance of the harem and the ruler's chambers. Therefore, it is easy for him to identify the components of the fragrance from the litter. He perceives a full-bodied Damask rose. It has rustic, densely packed blooms in rich pink, almost bursting, that exude a heavy, sweet-spicy scent. The rose is supported by a hint of lemon and a riper raspberry that underscores the scent of the rose. The sweet aspect is lightened slightly by a pepper note, yet it never strays from its established path. Time and again, Aman is caressed by the seductive combination of flowers and fruits, and although the sun is blazing, this seems to have no impact on the development of the fragrance. The delicious elixir wafts thickly from the interior of the litter, brushing against his face repeatedly. Under other circumstances, he might almost forget his task, but he must concentrate. His gaze fixed on the litter and his ears attuned to the surroundings. While the rose and its fragrant companions continue to envelop him, he also perceives jasmine. It allows the other scent trails to shine even more nobly and adds more depth. What has changed during the ride is that the fragrance has gained warmth through amber and woody notes, but a gentle hint of vanilla skillfully supports this. However, the rose has dominated the scent experience throughout the journey. Aman wonders if the lady in the litter might have chosen this fragrance herself, had she not been deprived of the choice.
For him, at least, a lady from distant western lands, appearing here as an exotic, with such an exquisite scent, striving to do justice to her beauty, would truly be an enrichment...

Whoever has never hunted and never loved,
never sought the scent of flowers
and never trembled at the sound of music,
is no human being, but a donkey.

Not what I expected
I had high hopes for "Qasamat Morhaf | Rasasi / الرصاصي" and was ultimately quite disappointed.
With all the fruity notes, I was looking forward to a fruity-rosy scent with a niche character, but that was a bust.

Unfortunately, I hardly perceive any of the fruits.
To me, the opening smells like disinfectant with "oud."
Absolutely terrible and somehow way too oriental for my taste.

After a few minutes, I start to notice the rose and pepper notes the most.
But neither smells particularly realistic.
The oud is constantly at the forefront, almost suffocating everything else.
Additionally, there is a very prominent oriental musk note that, in combination with the oud, almost comes off as leathery.

In the dry down, jasmine clearly comes to the forefront.
The raspberry I was hoping for simply isn't present at that point.
Until the end, I perceive nothing else but musk, oud, jasmine, and a bit of rose in the background.
It becomes sweeter and somewhat more pleasant thanks to the vanilla.
But that really can't save the fragrance.
I don't want to have to wait 2 hours either.

Overall, the scent reminds me of the old Lattafa, Armaf & Co. fragrances from a time when these brands released many synthetic oriental scents that didn't smell great.

The performance, at least regarding my sample, is not very strong.
On my skin, I can detect the scent for a maximum of 6.5 hours.
The sillage is okay; I expected more here as well.
It could also be me, or the person from whom I bought the sample had a bad batch.

Morhaf is definitely unisex.
Perfect for this time of year, especially as it slowly but surely gets colder.

My conclusion: Not for me, simply very different from what I expected, and the notes present here just don't suit my taste.
However, those who like Armani Privé - Rose d'Arabie might be satisfied with this scent.
It's definitely not a safe blind buy, despite many positive reviews.

Incredible price tag for such a great quality scent. Absolute gem. It kicks asses of fragrances that cost 5 or 6 times more.

Our bed still cozy warm
From our love of last night

I'm really impressed with how close this scent is to Rose d‘Arabie and for just €35 right now, I even like it more because it's less sweet, great!

Exquisite elegant deep opulent velvety rose from the Orient, just like its big sister "Rose d'Arabie." Impressive discovery.

Beautiful oud-rose scent. And I don't say that often about rose fragrances. Perfectly balanced.
Not too strong, not too soft. Really good.

In Mr. Morhaf's
garden, there is so much
to discover.
Magnificent roses,
some berry bushes,
Oriental plants,
old proud trees.

Sweet-spicy dark roses, powdery musk & warm vanilla. A lovely oriental-woody scent, but unfortunately too much synthetic oud.

A fine, slightly soapy-creamy rose scent, similar to "Secrets de Rose". I really like it & the price is just amazing! Truly beautiful!
