Mont blanc explorer
Absolute banger. I've slept on Montblanc thinking they were kind of an off brand, but everything I've smelled from them is worth every penny. I own genuine Aventus from 2015, and I will say on opening these are almost indistinguishable. Explorer quickly shows a different character on the dry down, however, with more pepper and patchouli and a distinct woods base. It's hard to say which one I like better, I gravitate towards woodsy and earthy scents that are pure masculine so I think Montblanc wins for me, plus the performance so far is a bit better than Aventus. With my particular bottle of Aventus I might get a few hours at best.

Not a true clone, but very similar and you really can't go wrong with this one if you like the genre. The value is unbeatable.

Bleu De Chanel
Classy and versatile. Strong negative opinions of the line seem to be directly connected to it's popularity rather than reasonable objective opinion. In other words, people may have valid reasons to not like it, but they act like it's terrible and unwearable because it's popular. With that out of the way I think this is an amazingly versatile fragrance that can be worn day or night, any season. It's warm and pleasant. It's not a freshy and it's not spicy. Whatever the category is between those two is where this fragrance lives. EDT, EDP or Parfum? I think they're all great but there is something very wonderful about the eau de Parfum. It is so smooth and elegant. Does Bleu De Chanel smell like Dior Sauvage? No, no it doesn't. They're both mass appeal fragrances, but that's it. BDC smells closer to Le Male Le Parfum than it does to Sauvage. As for the notes, the sharper notes like the citruses, the mint, the pepper, they match up perfectly with the softer notes like the ginger, the vetiver and the musk. It's worthy of the hype. The hatred towards the line should only be considered evidence of thaT
