Green, fresh, slightly sweet, freshly cut grass. no sour citrus notes. lovely.
Tonka, Cashmere wood, Cedarwood, and Vetiver build a solid base.
it also smells reminescent of freshly cut grass and woodruff.

It is a nice and unique DNA, slightly sweet, a modern green fragrance without pine or fir, no mossy vibes, no barbershop vibes. a pleasantly fresh scent that does not contain any sour citrus notes, just a bit bergamot at the opening. The freshness comes from aromatic notes, and there is a subtle bitter nuance in the middle. It is unisex in my opinion.

I had a sample and I liked it right away, then I accidentally got something on the leather jacket and the next day when I was putting it on I happened to smell this spot on the collar and thought, wait a minute, that smells fantastic in the dry down.

I missed it after a few days when the sample was empty, and I needed it back. Now I've got it between all the Perfumes de Marly, Tom Ford perfumes, and other expensive stuff. Which I also like very much.

it's that kind of scent, that would be perfect when going to a seminar with lots of other people sitting around. nobody would feel annoyed by it, since there are no intrusive notes and it's only noticeable by someone who sits close to you anyways.

Longevity is about 5 hours, projection is about 1 foot away for 1.5 hours.

Iconic
It is still an amazing scent. the big difference is the performance, which is still ok - it is not a weak scent by any means. But it used to be beast-mode. It was in 2001 when I noticed it the last time on a woman who made an entire hotel lobby smell like her.

The dry-down is similar to Gaultier 2 which has been discontinued. Sun is sweeter, more feminine, not as pure, lovelier in my book, not linear, and has yellow florals. I like SUN better.

The opening is mediocre - not very impressive. more yellow floral and I think I get a galbanum note. nevermind, the dry down is phenomenal. Men love that scent on women. I do. Anyone who has the patience to wait like 45 minutes, notices more and more that similarity to Gaultier 2 from Francis Kurkdjan. I own both and can compare them side by side. By the way, Gaultier 2 was released after SUN. So if there has been an "inspired by", then it was Kurkdjan who was inspired by Pierre Bourdon's SUN, not the other way around.

It's not that potent anymore, but honestly - who needs that. it is still a great women's fragrance, and when SUN has been launched more than 30 years ago, it was totally out of the box. nevertheless, it became popular because it is so lovely. therefore I call it iconic, and underrated nowadays.
