Love it or hate it

I bought this fragrance without ever having heard it. I was not completely disappointed but I am not even very happy. At first impression I tell you that it looks like a quality fragrance, no synthetic smells, plus it evolves very well. BUT(!!!!!), it's not for everyone. Some say it looks like Allure Home sport Extreme, but they have nothing in common, although I would have liked it very much. I don't like the opening, it smells like a cranberry juice cocktail and for some notes it reminds me a lot of Alien Man. After that it evolves well and is very pleasant. The duration is impressive, BUT (!!), the projection is not very strong, it remains very long as a scent of skin. Be careful, it is not for everyone. It's not that kind of smell you like right away, it's a difficult fragrance. The two things I like about this scent are the Longevity and its very complicated evolution.

Sweet, powdery, masculine, decent

I bought this blind.
After the first sniff I thought I did not like this. It's quite a sweet fragrance that was confusing to my nose.
After 2 wearings that sweetness became much more tolerable. In the opening this fragrance is a bit of a mess and it can be a bit harsh which I think is caused by the orris root. The more it dries down the less sweet and more smooth it becomes.
After about 20 minutes this turns into a very beautiful, sweet powdery and pretty unique fragrance. After that it's very linear, which is a good thing for this one. Suitable for any situation except in summer heat.

I don't understand Sejano's statement because this lasts a decent amount of time for me. I don't like to express longevity in hours because this is so dependent on temperature, humidity, inside/outside wear, skin, etc. Although it does not project much after ~3 hours, it does have decent lasting power. I'd say performance is slightly above average in general,

This is not a safe blind buy. I ended up liking this a lot but I can imagine some won't.

So, I'm trying my hand at my very first comment - Don't be too harsh on me!

The bottle of the perfume "Roberto Cavalli Uomo Silver Essence" strikes me as high-quality yet simple.
The bottle is made of a silver-gray glass and prominently features the initials "RG" in the same color as the glass of the bottle. The "neck" and the sprayer of the perfume are in gold, also appearing high-quality and color-coordinated with the inscription "Roberto Cavalli Uomo" beneath the initials. The cap complements the interplay of silver/gold/silver-gray with its silver appearance - Very stylish to look at, I like it!

The longevity of the perfume receives a score of 8.0/10 from me. I would like to justify this rating as well.
I applied the perfume on my wrist and spent the day with it. I engaged in various activities that took place outdoors. After about 4 hours outside, the perfume was still distinctly noticeable.

The scent is certainly one of the better releases of 2017, but nothing that you haven't smelled somewhere before. The fragrance starts off quite fresh with an oriental spicy-woody note. If you smell closely, you can distinctly detect lavender, a floral/slightly earthy scent from the iris root, and the warm sweetness of tonka bean. Cardamom also contributes a certain sweet note to the overall scent profile. Overall, an oriental-spicy fragrance note can be identified here. As the scent develops, the floral-fruity-spicy-sweet fragrance from the heart and base notes gains significance.

So: All in all, a solid, easy-to-wear scent! Definitely suitable for all day and can, in my opinion, be worn in both summer as well as autumn and winter. As mentioned above, one of the better releases of 2017, but no "unique" notes that you haven't smelled anywhere before.

After wearing it several times, I really like Silver Essenz. However, it took a while; it wasn't love at first sight. I think it was because it was unfamiliar to me. Now the DNA even has something addictive for me.

The opening is sweet, floral, almost fruity, loud, woody, and fresh, but completely without citrus notes. The DNA feels complex. Not synthetic. Ginger and tonka are the most recognizable for me. One could simply say: "Imagine the aroma of ginger ale, but intensified. Sweet and with additional floral notes, especially iris."

There is more in the fragrance, but the other notes/chords do not stand out.
I don't smell oak moss at all, yet I have no doubt that it's there. It's a chic scent with bright, positive vibes. So, not dark and mysterious.

In the dry down, the fruity notes and ginger recede. It becomes quieter and woodier. Tonka and iris are still present. The longevity is about 7 to 8 hours, and the projection is moderate, which I find good. Anyone standing more than 2 meters away will likely not notice it anymore.

Recommendation for those who are open to sweet tonka scents with floral notes. Because right now, Silver Essenz is a bargain. I paid €16 for 60ml, and it is definitely worth it.

Silver Essence - fitting name!

When I hear Silver Essence, I associate it with a kind of light, bright, and cool silver thread floating through a dark, heavy space!
At least that's how I would describe the visual I had in mind for the name. And this image has been etched in my mind after testing the perfume! Because, in my opinion, this perfume smells exactly like its name. But let's take it step by step.

As for the bottle, I can only agree with Hendrik20's review; it comes across as high-quality and simple. No frills, just classically stylish. The spray head is good, can't complain about that.

Also, regarding longevity, there is nothing to complain about. Although the scent turns into a "typical Tonka drydown mush" towards the end, a "The One," for example, can only dream of about 8 hours of longevity! So definitely a plus point, alongside the not overly high price, of course.

The sillage is not necessarily room-filling, but still quite decent. And in my opinion, the sillage is the strength of Silver Essence: It smells different on the skin than in the surrounding area: The scent cloud is, for me, a light, floral-fruity sweetness characterized by lavender and a slightly sharper note (ginger or violet according to the indication above? Not sure!?) to which a subtle rose joins after a while. Cardamom peeks in now and then.
The scent cloud is not intrusive, not heavy, but simply fresh, invigorating, lightly playful, and not feminine at all.
If you get a bit closer or wait for the heart notes to show, then the somewhat "heavier," spicy-earthy, rugged notes come through. Dominant here are tonka and the earthy-woody note, which I can't quite pinpoint. Not bad at all, but already familiar from other perfumes. A really strong contrast to the airy lightness of the top note! Therefore, the perfume seems a bit "schizophrenic" to me, if you will: a light, bright silver thread floating through the dark heavy space. Or an airy breeze surrounding the heavy semi-metal. (to return to the naming mentioned at the beginning)

For my part, I perceive the light and heavy notes somewhat "separately" or "side by side" and find that this makes it not quite as rounded as it could possibly be. Therefore, unfortunately, it will not find a place in my collection in the long run.
Do I regret having bought it? Not at all! The top note and sillage are fantastic and definitely worth a try! (even if Silver Essence does not stand out for its uniqueness)
And perhaps others do not see the schizophrenia of this scent so strictly and are eager to dip the dark winter (2021, what a year!) into a bright silver!
