What can I say. My grandma wore it. It smells like "her".
My statement on Chanel No°5 probably reads worse than my ratings would suggest. So here’s the review again.

I like it because of the memories. But also because of the mood it spreads/evokes.
And, it is the only fragrance I can wear when the others are just too much for me or when I feel a bit nauseous from other scents.

When you wake up in the morning and face a dreary, foggy day that you will spend in the office until it gets dark, I put it on. With a certain defiance, to conquer this day as well, to sit majestically at the desk in front of the client, not tolerating any contradiction - then you are exactly the right scent for me....and that’s why I like you...and for grandma...

As a supporter of Chanel, you obviously had to be tested as well. I want to test them all...! You best right away with a small sample.
Not everything that is called Chanel awakens great affection and love in me, but they are never really out of place and will sooner or later always be empty. And there’s something for every taste. I wanted to grow up with Chanel. Many memories of aunts and older cousins, even grandma....maybe that’s where the positive mood comes from?

But back to you. Dark, mysterious, and yet so noble, almost enticingly sexy is your design. However, once you are applied (one spray is enough), you awaken a conflict within me. The top note, fresh, citrusy, slightly bitter with grapefruit and bergamot lasts forever and surprises. Not like with others, where it disappears faster than it was allowed to. It remains fresh until flowers and something woody take over. I wouldn’t describe you as bitter. Nor as sweet. You are too rounded, too harmonious, too likeable for that. I wonder: "How can one be so profound, so grounded, and so fresh at the same time?!?" It excites me every time.

You awaken and invigorate, but also take one onto your lap, providing security, calm, taking away stress and accompanying one. But your true highlight comes after a long day in the evening, when one cuddles into the pillow and places a hand under the head. Your warmth, your closeness, which you gently let rise into the nose....

I think Coco Noir won’t run out anytime soon. But maybe in 20 years, a whole bottle will come?

Five years ago, when I stumbled into the perfume shop in Tenerife without a plan and tried to explain to the saleswoman that I just wanted to look around, she immediately presented me with this fragrance. As a young girl who wasn't really into "overpriced" floral scents, I liked it so much that I received it as a gift.
Now, five years later, having brought it out again (you can't throw away something that looks so pretty), I was surprised. As a roll-on, it has really held up fantastically! I now perceive it as intensely floral, with the noble roses greeting, mature, elegantly sweet. It feels like standing among roses in a flower shop. A sympathy that had to wait a long time, so it comes on vacation with me and adorns my neck on summer afternoons.

They say you are not special. And it's true - almost.
Not bright, not loud, not standing out from the crowd. No man turns around to look at you, like he does at the woman in the red dress. Because you wear a simple cream-colored dress with ballerinas and understated golden accessories; you are fresh yet down-to-earth, balanced, smiling to yourself while knowing where you want to go....into the big sunny garden, on a blanket among the flowers, with a good book.

You are my companion during the day in sunny weather - and for that, I thank you.

Some fragrances you love, some you spray diligently until they're empty, and some you want to wash off quickly. L'Instant de Guerlain is unfortunately one of those fragrances for me.
The expectations were high - with such reviews and this fragrance pyramid - and the fall was just as steep.
For me, it starts off fruity, but already heavy. What remains after 30 minutes is a soapy herb, not heavy, but by no means light, nothing I want to smell, because it lingers extensively and for a long time.
A big sorry to its fans and admirers ️ they will continue to love it nonetheless.
