I'm very surprised by how much I really like this honey sweet floral. Surprised because with a name like that who'd have thought this would be a shimmery golden little number. I love all the notes listed, even my nemesis freesia, as it adds a sparkling, sunniness to this composition. I also love how the buttery tiara and sweet and spicy hawthorn pair so well with the honey, creating this creamy, lightly tropical scent, that doesn't bring to mind anything else I've smelled before or in my wardrobe. That makes it special and unique for me.
While it does have soft, close to the skin silage, I was very aware of it as I kept receiving gentle wafts every time I moved. And lasting all day is another thing I like because it has great longevity on me. Though I think this can be worn all year long, as of now I find It works beautifully in the heat, surrounding me with a golden aura. Maybe Chanel should have named this after another color and called it Gold, because that's what it conjures up - Gold!

Beige is not always invisible!

Beige. The colour that makes you instantly think about style, elegance and refinement, the colour that perfectly dresses any woman.
But when Beige turns into a perfume, and also wears the signature of Chanel ,the interest is infinitely greater. A floral par excellence, creamy and powdery at the same time, uniquely charming with a very special je ne sais quoi( oh well,it's Chanel though),Beige is the epitome of luxury and glow, the perfume that represents the real feminine beauty in all its splendor.
Beige is not the best performer,nor the most complex fragrance,it is a honeyed floral,a bit exotic,a bit sweet and it's just a little something there about it that makes you need to be elegant and classy while wearing it,a little something that makes you want to be that delicate lady dressed in a Chanel tailleur that will not only turn heads,but will also bring compliments from those around (both men and women). So wear Chanel my darlings,wear Chanel!

Not your typical tropical floral

Beige smells quite different from what I expected from the listed notes, but very Chanel. It starts with a blast of their signature soapy aldehydes and a yellow floral note that comes across as more ylang ylang than frangipani to me. Maybe because the overall feel of the scent is more classic and "perfumey", instead of beachy and tropical like most frangipani scents. It's even slightly indolic, which I'm not that fond of, but luckily that's only noticeable in the top notes.
Later the fragrance turns quite powdery and surprisingly musky on my skin. At this point I mainly get the soft sweetness of hawthorne and honey. It's still mainly a clean, floral scent, so the honey never turns sickly or waxy.

If I had to assign a color to this fragrance, it would not be beige, but a sparkling champagne-ish light yellow. A beige scent would be something warmer, creamier and more skin-like to me. To be honest I would have liked it better than way. The way it is it's a nice scent, though not for me.

A lovely honeyed floral perfume – elegance and simplicity

Beige is a perfume from Chanel’s high-end collection, Les Exclusifs de Chanel. Apparently, beige was the favorite color of Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel. This perfume evokes the natural voluptuousness of beige, which was a refuge for Gabrielle Chanel, so says their website. For mere mortals, it is a lovely honeyed floral fragrance that is both simple and long-lasting. The nose behind Beige is Jacques Polge who created many of the Chanel Les Exclusifs. This review is based on a full bottle that I bought recently.

Though beautiful in its elegance and simplicity, it is a simple medley of accords. We have three floral notes – frangipani, freesia and hawthorn – blended nicely using a delicate honey note. I can wax poetic about the beauty of this combination, but it is wholly unnecessary. Beige and its sisters, Comète and 1957, create a delicate and ethereal aura of floral notes, something quite unique to the florals from Chanel Les Exclusifs.

The performance of Beige is superlative. I can smell it on me even after twelve hours. The sillage is very good for a few hours, but it stays inoffensive. It is very safe for work, as it is versatile and pretty.

I bought a 40 ml bottle of this eau-de-parfum as one of the five bottles in a Les Exclusifs set that Chanel sells. If you go to a Chanel boutique, you can select any five fragrances from the Les Exlusifs collection. In a world saturated with avant-garde and niche perfumes, Les Exclusifs de Chanel remain the gold standards in perfumery.

Definition of Elegance

From the minute I smelled this perfume in the Chanel boutique I knew I had to have it. I generally like Chanel fragrances and this smells to me very "Chanel" to me but at an elevated, even more sophisticated level. Absolutely stunning. It's soft, clean, cozy, yet so sophisticated. I feel like a million bucks when I wear this.
