Yes, are you crazy???
I ordered it blind, of course, and was about to send it back to France without opening it. Unbelievable! Because I read the comments and statements here.

It also came in a beautiful white outer packaging with a bow and a cotton sample bag with a golden Guerlain print. Wonderfully pretty and classy to look at.

Fortunately, I wisely had my name engraved as a service when I ordered from the homepage. Sonja
Oh yes, it took a while, but then I remembered.

And I can't send it back at all. What luck. I had already made the decision when I ordered it.

It smells absolutely heavenly, divine, just like Shalimar smells. I love that old-fashioned petroleum note of bergamot and here it's the iris and I smell the iris right at the beginning. I smell vanilla and it's very classy, fine in combination with iris and rose, a typical note in powder fragrances. Yes, old-fashioned as far as I'm concerned, I call it classic and elegant.
The fragrance is still modern for me. I am already an old, elegant lady, but the fragrance makes me feel young and the fragrance makes me feel young. And I'm not that old after all. This one really does a goddess credit, unlike all the Godesses fragrances that have been released. My queen Shalimar, with whom it all began.

I think Millesime Iris is in the same league as Creed Vanile. Oh, I'm really in love now.
The sillage will level out. I've only sprayed it once on my décolleté and also on my wrist, it smells strong. But it's a kind of fragrance that makes me dream and so I might wear it more for myself, even before going to bed. But definitely in intimate moments.
Let's see what my husband says ;-) Whether he says anything else...

Like a feather in the wind.
A very dry fragrance that comes close to the original Shalimar. Typical for Guerlain, the fragrance is fairly quiet and, if you like, relatively unspectacular and unfashionable.

It embodies French understated elegance 100%. A fragrance that is as quiet as a feather in the wind. A very dry iris fragrance, but strangely enough it seems very leathery to me, although leather is not listed‍️ In the drydown you get a lot of the typical Guerlain vanilla. For me, relatively unexciting and almost boring. Guerlain is actually much better at this when it comes to iris. Iris Torréfié plays about 5 classes higher.

H+S weak.

Was a blind buy‍️ I'll keep testing it for now.

The 20s diva
You're not the kind of guy who walks into a room and your sheer aura makes all heads turn. You have a certain elegance, no question about it, but you are not of a sublime, natural beauty or even divinity. No, you come into the room and everyone takes notice of you through your full-bodied laugh - melodic, striking and slightly intrusive.
The peacock feather in your hair, the pearl necklaces, your smokey eyes, gold glitter fuzz everywhere, somehow it's all too much!
Who is that, let me through, I want to take a closer look at the person..
"Wow!"
Not a light, breathy "woahhh"... but: "Wow! What a girl!"

You smoke a long, thin cigarette and drink rosé from a magnificently cut champagne glass.
The next moment, your hand, clad in elbow-length, fine leather gloves, swings over a plate of vanilla cream cake. You seem to be enjoying life to the full.
When a dab of cream remains on your lips, it's tempting to reach out, wrap your hand around your chin and stroke your full, dark red shimmering lips with your thumb, get very close to you and... your tongue has already made the cream disappear.
You are seductive, your cheerfulness is infectious, intense for a moment, then you move on, amuse yourself with the next person and people want to follow you, more of this sweet, discreetly obscene lightness.
If only someone would hold you tight, dance with you, make love to you, they would surely be quickly satisfied, quickly sated. But you only ever come just close enough for your plush stole to tickle your nose - then you slip away from the light touch of your hand on your hip and all that remains is the sweet memory of your enchanting, almost erotic sensuality.

I didn't like Shalimar Millésime Iris from the start.
Too sweet, too gourmand, too everything. Somehow over the top. Maybe it wasn't the right time of year yet...
Then, two months later (October) it really hit me! This soft yet full-bodied powderiness with the icing sugar-soft yet deep vanilla sweetness... oh. You can easily recognize it, the dark, slightly smoky Guerlain vanilla, which somehow has something insinuating and at the same time comes across as elegant.
Almost dry at the beginning, the fragrance becomes increasingly creamy, almost buttery and spicy at the same time.

This has been my go-to fragrance for weeks now and I just can't get enough of it.
That wasn't really the plan. I would like to give way to other fragrances again. Hmph. Let's see how long it lasts..
But it has to be said that iris and vanilla are my absolute favorite notes right now... no wonder :)

Objectively speaking, in comparison, I still find the mommy (aunt?) Shalimar Eau de Toilette much better, because it's simply more interesting, rougher and more experienced. But what can I do... I'm addicted without a will.

Dance of the sugar fairy
Oh, I was so curious about this fragrance. I am such a gourmand. Inside I was already checking my budget to see how and when I could afford the fragrance. Just because of the iris. I like iris and also iris powder, i.e. an iris that powders. But, woman be smart and get a bottle first, which a dear perfumer then gave me.
Juhu Millésime starts off with a rather puffy iris. That's what these plants are all about. Irises also belong to the iris family, although there are many other varieties. None of them are actually very sweet. Mrs. Iris throws herself into the arms of Mr. Vanilla Bean shortly after she appears. Bourbon scraped out and preserved in sugar. Bergamot and rose are somehow underexposed and do not prevent this saccharification from dissipating. A feast for all sweet tooths and gourmand fans. I think of the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker". My mother dragged me to this ballet as a child. The girl Klara was given a nutcracker by her uncle. I was terrified when the Nutcracker and all the other toys and toy soldiers came to life. There was a battle between the Nutcracker, the toy soldiers and the army of mice. At some point, Klara and the Nutcracker Prince end up in the realm of the Sugar Plum Fairy at the jam castle. I'm sure you all know the melody of the Sugar Plum Fairy's dance. It's a pity that no music can be recorded here. Nevertheless, I still don't like this ballet and Tchaikovsky isn't exactly my favorite composer either And I feel the same way the more the fragrance develops. Like the sugar fairy. Well, the dancing sugar fairy has rolled her tutu in vanilla and there is probably no perfume from Guerlain that doesn't contain vanilla. It has to go in, whether the scent likes it or not.
Oh and I don't like nutcrackers either. There are people who collect these beasts. If they are already tearing open their mouths.... Nah, I'd rather collect perfume, even if this little treasure won't make it into my collection.

Sensual seduction
Here it is at last. My first Shalimar. Since this fragrance is such a landmark in the perfume world I really wanted to own it. But the original is too much for me, so I waited for the right flanker. And now it is finally here. A good week I own him now and have him already worn 4 times. That speaks clearly for the fragrance.

Shalimar Millesime Iris starts quite briefly a little crisp fresh but already with slightly vanilla base. I get but less the bergamot, for me this is more a rose covered in dew on a cold morning. But as soon as the fragrance lingers longer on the skin, the combination of iris and vanilla unfolds. A wonderful, beautiful vanilla, probably my first real contact with the Guerlain vanilla. A subtle hint of lipstick I also get but only very subtle and background. Like smeared lipstick after you have kissed passionately. In addition, a slightly smoky note joins but really only slightly. This smoky supports this wonderful vanilla lipstick combination. He is in a very elegant way sweet and playful.
Let's just keep painting the picture: I'm sitting in a classy bar with beautiful old wooden furniture and heavy armchairs. I have a stunning black dress on. High-necked but figure-hugging and in addition red lipstick. After an elegant man has invited me to a vanilla-heavy rum, he smears me the lipstick in the secret kiss in the dim light.
That is the association that triggers this Shalimar with me. Forgive me that today I have to open the storybook to write this review but anything else is not fair to him.
I recognize despite everything still the Ur-Shalimar but much much lighter, much more subtle. Understated but still exciting. And yet somehow quite independent.
For me, Shalimar Millesime Iris is very sexy, seductive and sensual but all without crowbar.

Durability is pretty good I must say, he keeps all day and partly I smell him even the next day. Sillage is subtle, quite appropriate for this elegant fragrance.
From the bottle I am a little disappointed. The shape is iconic and really great but the whole presentation I find really cheap for the 122 euros. As long as you do not have him in hand but only stand sees it goes but.
All in all, a great flanker for which I am very grateful.

Blind buy with no regrets - delicious, light vanilla iris well rounded out by the caramel and Shalimar core. Not too powdery or sweet.

A "cute" version of Shalimar that I find to be more wearable than the original.

Gorgeous! It's like a cross between Shalimar Cologne & Lancome Iris Dragees. The Orris butter absolutely does shine and I love it to pieces.
