The horror has a name... Angel
Contrary to many others, Thierry Mugler was not a name I was familiar with for a long time. However, one day I stumbled upon an image of this bottle and found it immediately appealing. This star shape is truly a unique eye-catcher.
Almost, yes almost, I would have ordered it unfortunately. But luck was on my side in the form of samples. I received Angel, as well as Alien, as a sample with an order, and if someone had asked me beforehand, I would have bet my hand that I preferred Angel over Alien.
With joyful anticipation, I sprayed it on my wrist, took a deep breath, which turned into a severe coughing fit. I have never smelled anything so grotesque in my life. Sweet, sweeter, Angel is the motto here. You can almost imagine the scent like caramel sauce, with caramelized almonds swimming in it, sprinkled with brittle, and then drizzled with chocolate sauce, all packed into a caramel candy that is floating in fluff (marshmallow cream) and garnished with cotton candy.
Who on earth came up with the idea to create something like this? I was truly shocked because I wanted it. I wanted this pretty star in my collection. So I went back to a perfume shop, hoping it was perhaps just an extra sweet edition, and tried it again there. I can only say, poor saleswoman. She had to fan me with fresh air and bring me a glass of water.
So I definitely have to forgo the star. Instead, I fell in love with Alien, which I did not expect before. But that is another story.
In general, opinions are divided when it comes to Thierry Mugler's fragrances. Personally, I find it simply grotesque, and without a test sample, I would not recommend ordering it to anyone. It is just so special and stunning in its own way.

Ice Rain
I love this scent. It is so fresh, clear, and cold.
My spontaneous association with the fragrance is an ice bath in Finnish Lapland, followed by a nice glass of vodka.
I find it very wintry. Not in the sense of cozy, warm lounging by the fireplace, but rather hiking outside in ice and snow and experiencing a winter landscape. To me, snow smells just like this perfume, and I am already looking forward to having an absolute freshness kick for the summer that transports me back to the icy landscapes.
The strong citrus note will certainly not appeal to everyone, and it does not evolve; rather, it maintains its scent from start to finish. However, it lasts a long time. I could still smell it on myself after 24 hours. For me, it is simply one of my No. 1 fragrances.

Sugary Rose Shock
I purchased A Drop of Rose as a blind buy along with the sister scent Verbena. I do not regret the purchase (15mL on special offer) but the rose variant is not quite for me.
To me, it smells like a mix of my grandmother's rose soap combined with rose water and sugar. Simply way too sweet and one-dimensional. I actually really like the scent of roses, but in this combination, it lacks the kick and that certain something. I personally don't know where to wear it. Maybe while gardening when cutting roses ^.~
I think anyone who loves pure rose scent will find joy in it. Unfortunately, for me, it is too boring, and I do not see myself in it.

A Stormy Love
For my first contribution, I chose a perfume that I was practically not driven to at all. I knew neither the name Cerruti, nor the perfume, the advertisement, the scent, or the...
So I could go on for quite a while. So here it is, short and sweet: I didn't know it. Period.
I discovered it at sea, during my second cruise.
Normally, I’m not very interested in the offers in the shops, but my companion wanted to stroll around a bit since our evening event was still a while away.
I lingered at the perfume offers and sniffed my way through the testers.
And then I found it. Cerruti 1881. Or did it find me?
First, I sprayed it on the paper, then on one wrist, then on the other.
Lost in this warm scent, the ship swayed through the sea, making some people wish they could lean over the railing. However, I was completely captivated by this fragrance.
After a bit of back and forth, it was purchased, and since then it always reminds me of the beautiful stormy days on the ship in Norway.
In retrospect, it still surprises me because I probably wouldn’t have looked at the perfume just based on the components. A lovely floral scent, where I can distinctly smell freesia and violet, paired with a warm woody-vanilla base.
Yes, it lacks sharp edges, but I don’t want to bump into things every day, and used discreetly, I find it to be a beautiful fragrance that carries me through difficult days.
