Nice rose fragrance if you don't mind reapplying
This is 90% fresh, blooming rose. The other 10% are made up of a very shy, lemony verbena and magnolia. Upon application I find the rose smell very overpowering and almost sickening. Then again, I'm not used to the scent of roses, so that's probably why. I can't pick up on the vanilla at all.
For about the first 30 minutes this is too overpowering for me. After that, it tones down to a skin scent that I occasionally still pick up. A drop of rose is completely gone after about 2 to 3 hours. So much for longevity.
I've never been too crazy about the smell of roses, but I decided that I should at least give them a try. Unfortunately though, I'm still not able to make up my mind about the scent of roses, despite having worn this a couple of times. Most people around me seem to enjoy it though, so I guess it's not as offensive as I think it is.
A Drop of Rose is very close to being a single note perfume, as the rose is definitely center stage. It does not mix with the other notes, it just overpowers them, which is a shame. Very linear. Sillage could be better and longevity is outright bad. Some EdT's have better longevity than this. I wouldn't buy it again, but if you like roses and don't mind reapplying, then this is for you.
