The Essence of Flamenco: The New Flamenco Extrait de Parfum by Ramón Monegal

The Essence of Flamenco: The New "Flamenco" Extrait de Parfum by Ramón Monegal

Ramón Monegal unveils "Flamenco (Extrait de Parfum)" a unisex fragrance that celebrates the passionate art of flamenco in a floral, spicy-woody bouquet.

Like any ancient art, flamenco evolves from its roots to convey the same feeling with different nuances. Flamenco Extrait de Parfum keeps the passion intact, reaffirmed by the intensity given by the wisdom of the master.

The top note opens with a spicy, sensual saffron note, enveloped by fruity raspberry and the floral elegance of rose. The heart of the composition unfolds a fresh, floral splendor of iris, jasmine and orange blossom, infused with the warm sensuality of cedarwood. The fragrance is anchored by a warm, woody oud note that harmonizes with amber, leather and musk.

"Flamenco (Extrait de Parfum)" is a highly concentrated reinterpretation of the popular Eau de Parfum "Flamenco" from 2017, which was also created by the perfumer Ramón Monegal Maso.

Flamenco is often considered synonymous with the music of Spain. However, the passionate sounds and their creators, the Andalusian Roma, the Gitanos, met with rejection and oppression for a long time. Persecuted and discriminated against for centuries, they initially only expressed their feelings of despair, anger and exuberant joie de vivre in song. Dance and guitar accompaniment only later became important components of the art form.

As a unique form of artistic expression, flamenco embodies the identity of the Andalusia region to this day. In 2010, it received well-deserved recognition from UNESCO and was added to the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Ramón Monegal

Growing up in the fourth generation of the Myrurgia family, Ramón Monegal Maso was literally born with a love of exclusive fragrances. His path led him from the Maison Myrurgia in Geneva via Grasse to Paris, where he was taught by renowned mentors such as the Maître Parfumeur Arturo Jordi Pey as well as master perfumers Pierre Bourdon and Max Gavarry.

His breakthrough finally came in 1979, when his first perfume "Alada" won the hearts of fragrance lovers. This also gave him higher positions in the company: Initially working as head of the perfume department, Ramón Monegal later rose to become Vice President of Myrurgia.

In 2009, he finally founded his own company: the fragrance label Ramón Monegal was born. Ramón describes his creations as vibrant presences that seduce the senses and emphasize personal charm in a unique way.

The new fragrance is available in a bottle size of 50 ml.
