The warm brother
The Asad is a really great and pleasant fragrance. The parallels to the Sauvage Elixir are of course unmistakable, but it still goes in a different direction. Compared to the "original", I think the Asad is a little warmer, especially in the drydown, where the intense spices of the elixir are replaced by vanilla. As with almost all Arabic dupes, the first few seconds are unpleasant, but that's probably a fair trade when you consider the price. In my eyes, this is a version of the elixir that is even more suitable for the masses.

Ideal for those who don't worry too much about their fragrance
I think the YSL Y is a great all rounder that is easy to wear. Some find it too synthetic but on the whole it's a "people pleaser". A classic designer for the masses. I think the DNA is actually quite good, but it's nothing special. The fragrance is relatively linear and nothing exciting happens. H/S are quite decent. But somehow I miss that certain something about it. Great as a gift but unfortunately not enough for anyone who is a little more interested in fragrances.
