It's definitely a BdC flanker, and to me, it's almost like this is a different version of the Parfum that never got made, almost as if the perfumer made a handful of renditions and this one, because it's got some smoke, leather, and a small touch of something animalic, wasn't picked as the final version. To my nose, it's worlds different on strip versus skin, as on strip it's almost in between the EDP and the Parfum and very little of those dark notes come across. On skin (mine, at least), much more of those dark notes come out, especially when smelled up close. In the air, it's very close to the Parfum, and I'd say that if you have the Parfum, this is redundant. Personally, I've always wanted a bottle of the Parfum, and now that we have this, I may actually spend the extra money and get L'Exclusif. In the end, it has all of the characteristics of the Parfum, but it's slightly deeper, more interesting, and, most importantly, it actually projects. On my skin, the biggest drawback of the Parfum was that it didn't project or have much of a sillage to speak of, after the first hour or so. With this, the performance is much, much better, and if the Parfum had this kind of projection, I would've bought a 5oz years ago and never looked back. In my opinion, this is the best version of BdC so far, and probably what the Parfum should've been in the first place.

This is basically a very close clone of BdC EDP. I felt the urge to write a review of this because SO MANY REVIEWERS don't understand that, with all of these cheap middle-eastern frags, you have to spray it a few times and then leave it the hell alone for 2 months and let it macerate. Yes, the initial sprays of most these smell terrible, and this one is probably the worse offender. After letting it sit for a few months, however, this becomes a beastly performer and is maybe 90% similar to BdC EDP. I don't get much incense at all, so you can't say this is similar to the EDT or Parfum, and while the quality clearly isn't as good as BdC, it's still excellent for a clone frag, especially one at this price point. In the air, it's stunningly close to the EDP, and I get maybe 5-6 hours on skin and this lasts damn near forever on clothes. An outstanding frag for the money, and easily one of the best clones/inspirations out of the 600+ frags I've tried yet.

Personally, I've either tried or owned SWY OG, Intensely, Absolutely, Freeze, Leather, and now Tobacco. To my nose, Absolutely is my favorite of the line, overall, but I think this is probably tied with that flanker now. The tobacco comes across more than I expected, after watching the usual round of YT reviews, with the implementation of the tobacco note being more in the realm of what is done in Spicebomb Extreme. While SWY Tobacco definitely still has a small bit of the original DNA of the line (i.e. sugared/glazed chestnut), the spices and tobacco are much, much more prominent in this flanker, as compared to many of the others. Performance and longevity is very solid, as is the norm with most of the rest of the line, and this is definitely suited more towards the colder seasons, so the late winter/early spring release timeframe (at least in my part of the world, NC/USA) is slightly unfortunately. Still, this is another great flanker to an already great line, and, in my opinion, not redundant to any of the others at all. EDIT: To anyone that doesn't get much of the tobacco, which seems to be an unusual amount of reviewers online, you get MUCH more tobacco on skin that on a tester, and a very dry, cigar-type, at that. Heaven for us tobacco lovers!

To me, this is very much like a blend of 75% Le Male Le Parfum and 25% Dior Homme 2011. The neroli in the opening is fresh and really is great, but it's too bad that it only sticks around for 15-20min or so. Performance is, unfortunately, nowhere near as good as LMLP or DH, but isn't terrible, so I'd say it's just average, at 4-6 hours or so. Honestly, I came here to write a review because, after looking at Fragrantica, you really can't get an accurate depiction of this from anything on there. Bottom line, this isn't as strong or powdery as either LMLP or DH, and it's not as complex or dark as something like Dior Homme Intense, or even as clean as Prada l'Homme. It's kind of just in the middle of all of those, and, IMO, if you have any of those already, this would be both redundant and also not as interesting. If you don't have any of those, this may be worth a sample, as you might like this safer/less-polarizing take on iris more than those. Cheers!

So far in my 2 years or so of my fragrance journey, and having sampled approximately 500 different fragrances, this is #1 for me in terms of the best value of any fragrance so far. Another reviewer described it as "Christmas in a bottle", and I couldn't agree more. While it's decidedly NOT a clone of Angels' Share, I'd say this is almost an "inspired by" fragrance with a holiday twist. My batch is full of booze and cinnamon, and while I don't get as much of the dates/praline as others have mentioned, it's just as delightfully rich, deep and complex as any By Kilian fragrance, even Angels' Share. I got mine for $30, and I simply cannot believe that such a high-quality fragrance could be had for such a low price. Utterly amazing.
