Blind Buy first impressions.
So, I am a 21 year old University student who is a cologne snob i guess. Heard that this is a clone of BDC. Owned a bottle of BDC EDP earlier, saved up for it, love it, is my signature scent, but in these times its stupid expensive specially where i live. And being a broke ass student started looking for clones heard about this and missoni wave parfum. the latter wasn't available in my region so pulled the trigger on this. Gotta say not disappointed. Opening is pretty close to BDC in the air Obviously because of the new bottle and all smells like alcohol for the first 30 secs and so but mellows out after that.
Obviously its synthetic smelling and a bit harsh in the opening but nothing a little maceration wont help with. BDC smells more natural 100% and well rounded.
Mid gets more shower jelly and musky than BDC again that is more well rounded.
Dry down pretty good.
80 to 85% of BDC experience especially for someone smelling it off of you.
Good projection a lot better than BDC.
Nose Blind Warning, I got nose blind pretty fast, i think its because i kept smelling it to figure out the dry down.
Lasting need to test because it gets to almost 50 degree Celsius where i live.
BDC only lasted 4 - 6 hours, skin scent after the first 3 to 3.5 hours.
Considering its almost 1/5th the price seems worth it. Especially if you're on a budget.
8.9/10 would recommend.

The best clone of BdC EDP
This is basically a very close clone of BdC EDP. I felt the urge to write a review of this because SO MANY REVIEWERS don't understand that, with all of these cheap middle-eastern frags, you have to spray it a few times and then leave it the hell alone for 2 months and let it macerate. Yes, the initial sprays of most these smell terrible, and this one is probably the worse offender. After letting it sit for a few months, however, this becomes a beastly performer and is maybe 90% similar to BdC EDP. I don't get much incense at all, so you can't say this is similar to the EDT or Parfum, and while the quality clearly isn't as good as BdC, it's still excellent for a clone frag, especially one at this price point. In the air, it's stunningly close to the EDP, and I get maybe 5-6 hours on skin and this lasts damn near forever on clothes. An outstanding frag for the money, and easily one of the best clones/inspirations out of the 600+ frags I've tried yet.

Not my style, but good quality nonetheless
Well blended, lasts long for a freshie, goes on sale often, and doesn't smell as synthetic as the CDNIM line (maybe because it has less citrus). It was a blind-buy, and I never tried the BDC... So it's not for me, but I can smell that the quality is there. So if you like that type of scent profile, you won't be disappointed.

Window cleaner smell - maturation needed?
I bought CDN Iconic last week, and my initial reaction was "wow, this is literally BDC EDP". The first few sprays were incredibly close to the original - smooth, refined, and well-balanced. It even had the creamy sandalwood note I love BDC for.

But after that? All I get now is a strong synthetic lemon window cleaner vibe. The beautiful depth from the first sprays is completely gone, replaced by something harsh and chemical. I’ve read about letting fragrances like this sit for weeks or even months to let the scent develop, so I’m hoping that’s the case here. Maybe some liquid in the tube/atomizer was exposed to oxygen for a long time and that's why the first sprays were good.

If the synthetic edge fades and the scent smooths out, I’ll come back in a few months with an update. Fingers crossed!
Batch #393104, made in UAE

Update after 3.5 months: still smells synthetic and not nearly as good quality as BDC

more ironic than iconic
So I'll start here, first review of the fragrance, also my first review.

Based on a sample and having applied it three times, I will try to put the whole thing into words.

First of all, I want to mention that I have come to appreciate the brand Armaf as a cost-conscious perfumista. Amidst some nonsense, there are indeed some lovely fragrances available. The fact that they like to release dupes is certainly a topic for excellent debate. Lack of creativity in development or even idea theft vs. showing the more expensive, sometimes greedy manufacturers how performance-wise a fragrance can perform olfactorily for less money.
Whatever conclusion one may come to, they ultimately offer a very diverse product range with mostly really fair prices, combined with often quite remarkable performance in terms of H/S.

Recently, the sample of Iconic arrived for me.
Regarding the fragrance: It opens with a "blue" scent typically beautifully citrusy fresh and aromatic-spicy, with a subtle aquatic note. So far, so good. I was initially happy and impressed. After about two hours, the lovely fresh spicy note gave way to the drydown, which unfortunately ruins the fragrance for me and catapults it far from the list of potential purchase candidates for a blue freshie.
The character changed, at least on my skin and for my nose, towards an unpleasantly synthetic powderiness (amber?), while a forced wannabe smokiness always scratched at the surface (frankincense and labdanum?). I have nothing against powderiness or smokiness in creations, but here it feels painfully forced and unharmoniously cobbled together.
My relatively inexperienced nose regarding perfumes often cannot pick out individual components, but for me, something just doesn’t fit here.

As is often the case, a review is always subjective. I can very well imagine, as can be inferred from the statements here, that many people, including the drydown, will like it.

I don't have a Bleu de Chanel for comparison, and, shame on me, I have only tested it once in the perfumery. I sincerely hope that the Chanel scent is more coherent here, as I cannot otherwise understand the hype. I will test and compare it again in due time.

Additionally, it must be said that the Iconic is priced far from an Armaf-typical cheapie at the relevant retailers here.
Oh, and in terms of longevity, it was average for me, but without the brand's typical persistence like Pattex that other creations from the Arabs exhibit.

For me personally, unfortunately more of a fail from the house of Armaf, which makes the name seem rather arrogantly ironic than truly iconic ;-)
6 points for the beautiful opening.

Make your own picture of it. At least test it first before you buy blindly, I would say.

I hope I could help some with this.

Tested BDC EDP against this today. It's 98% the same (more woods in BDC). No one will know the difference in the air.

Yep, that's BdC, period. The start, like CDNIM, is a bit scratchy but then qualitative and balanced

Fresh opening, but then nose blindness. Ambroxan bomb. New bottle, so will wait a few months to see changes.

The opening for me was so harsh and syntetic, that it gave me a bad headache. I had to wash it away and ended up giving it to my nephew...
