Wow now I love it!
First I hated it. Mainly because the leather accord can smell really weird and a bit disgusting to my nose under some circumstances.

But as long as the leather is not doing anything weird and I smell it from some distance and not directly from my skin, the scent is absolutely amazing.

Especially the Myrrh / Patchouli Combo with this candy like sweetness is quite addicting and intriguing to my nose. Love it and I will buy a full bottle!

Probably really one if not the best designers of 2024.

I also bought a sample of Carlisle, tested them side by side and I don't find them really similar. Maybe the darkness and richness might be comparable. But at least the Myrrh does all the difference for me. And actually I like Boss Bottled quite a bit more. I don't like Carlisle that much.

For me the hype is real and I'm looking forward of holding my own bottle in my hands!

Wow! My absolute favorite Summer Festival Scent!
So after Testing God of Fire for a few days and giving it some full days wearing I'm ready to rate it.

I really like it a lot and it's even the top perfume for me for one single occasion and that's festivals.

It's super fruity, very sweet, a tiny bit fresh and later creamy, woody. It's a bit too sweet for me and I would have loved a bit more ginger or some other spiciness to balance the sweetness a bit. That's why it's not a 10 for me. But still it's amazing perfumery enchanting your senses with, for me, quite realistic strawberry and mango notes. And I'd even say it's leaning a bit more masculine which I like for myself.

The scent is just giving amazing summer vibes, lifting the mood, giving cest and energy. That's why it's my go to summer festival fragrance as it's just totally pushing the feel good, good mood festival vibes and everyone around you just loves your fresh, fruity, sweet smell. And by the way the longevity and Sillage are really good for this kind of fragrance.

When I wore it last weekend on a festival I got intimate with a girl and she said later that "I smelled so good it's like cheating".

So yeah it definitely worked for that girl haha. So I highly recommend this amazing perfume for festival season and good vibes.

But that's mostly what I would wear if for as I think I don't like it so much for everyday use for myself. But still it is a very very good all around summer fragrance.

Update: Bought a full bottle retail directly from the SHL Store. I like it very much. For me better than Porthole, Trouble in Paradise and Tales from Zanzibar.

Is this really what Silver Mountain Water smells like?
For me the opening was quite harsh as most Armaf perfumes. A bit off putting. After maybe 30 mins to one hour the scent was actually alright.

A bit light, a bit like a blue fragrance for me but more unique. Citrus Fresh is definitely the game here for my nose but still quite masculine.

For me it was okay but nothing I would ever wear. I hope Silver Mountain Water is better or the high quality makes it like an unique fragrance. Otherwise I wouldn't get the hype.

But Sillage is a hard pass for me.

Wow horrible
So maybe I've got a bad sample or maybe it's just really not my taste at all.

But for me the opening was actually disgusting, like it made me a bit sick to my stomach. I can't even describe it really well, just like an awful Moss Accord experiment gone wrong.

After 2-3 hours the scent became bearable to me but still very much not to my taste. For me actually mostly herbal green and a bite marine accords. I didn't get much fruit but a bit sweetness non the less.

Thus, it's the perfume I rated by far the lowest as its not my thing and on top smells like something gone horribly wrong. Then again, maybe it was my sample?

Scentwise underrated, but I get the disappointment
So for me the smell is definitely way better than a 6.5 which is the current average rating.

I'd give it an 8.5. For me it's the best Y Fragrance from the line (on my skin, not necessarily on paper). And on my Skin it also smells by far the highest quality. So I actually get the official marketing text saying "highest quality ingredients etc.".

After testing it on skin I would get it over the EDP, the EDP intense and the le Parfum. Not for retail price of course, but you can get it for a quite decent price right now.

It's very masculine, it's fresh, a tiny bit fruity, a bit spicy, a bit woody. Incense and oud is minimal to non-existent, but the rest seems quite high quality to me for a designer fragrance.

On my skin it reminds me a lot of Bleu de Chanel but I think I even like Y l'elixir a bit more because I find Bleu de Chanel so very boring.

I say it's quite a good blue fragrance, not for retail price but for discount for sure.

Now to the name. Is the title of elixir fitting for this fragrance? No absolutely not in my opinion. It does not seem to be super beast mode for me, it's not experimental or ingenious and it's not super dark and concentrated. For me it's just the highest quality YSL Y perfume and that's that. So I can understand the disappointment, but the scent itself is fine.

Edit: Okay so I finally bought Y l'Elixir and got it yesterday and gave it a full wear today. So far I'm loving it. Especially for the 75 € I paid for it.

I sprayed 3 sprays on my neck (mainly on the clothes) this morning and I still smell it quite a bit on myself after 8 hours. So for me Sillage is good, Longevity is good. And I perceive it as indeed way darker, way richer and a bit more incensy / smokey compared to the rest of the line and indeed a bit unusual / daring with a tiny bit of oud. For me the best Blue Fragrance right now with an amazing Dark, Incense, floral special twist. In the Marketing Text it's called a "dark and white fougere" which for me fits perfectly. Thus for me elixir is in the end an okay label for this scent.

But it is very well blended and I think you need to be quiet sensible to get the quality and the nuances of the ingredients. The only thing I don't like is the bottle. It should have gotten at least a magnetic cap and a nicer package. It's really mid.

So that's at least my take on and my experience with the Y l'Elixir.
