Blindbuy - does it work?
My answer to the above question: a YES. I must admit that I am a bit of a marketing victim & now and then, (no, that’s an understatement) more and more often I buy fragrances or generally products that are recommended, by whom & where is another question. However, with this fragrance, I was also attracted by the super simple and minimalistic bottle; I love that kind of thing. So, a few clicks & ordered. What I find great is that you receive a sample with the fragrance and can easily return it if you don’t like it.

The fragrance notes can be overwhelming due to their variety. But to say a few words about the scent itself: it is very oriental, yet pleasantly oriental & can be worn wonderfully by both genders. The scent smells very high-quality to me. The rose does not bother me at all this time. It is sweet, resinous, slightly smoky, floral (in this case rose), spicy, etc. You can already tell that it has many facets & I feel the same way. It is by no means reserved but also not intrusive. It is very well received in my surroundings.

Conclusion for me: a successful blind buy. :)

Christmas Market - here we come!
I tested this wonderful scent with a very good friend & our first thoughts that we expressed right away were: “mhh delicious, oh this is good, spices, Christmas, we are walking through the Christmas market”

And that’s exactly how it was. We both agreed that this scent is a strong contender. My friend told me she sees us strolling through the Christmas market & since then I can't get that image out of my mind. Whenever I smell the fragrance, we are at the Christmas market, passing by various stalls where the scent of spices & anise candies wafts towards us & drinking warm mulled wine to warm up. This year, hopefully, we will make this a reality & you all know which scent I will be wearing. ;)

The fragrance is labeled as a men's scent, but I don’t understand why, because if this isn’t unisex, then I don’t know what is.

I personally don’t perceive the bergamot at the beginning. I immediately get a spice mix with a lot of cinnamon & anise. Vanilla gives it a wonderful sweetness and incense adds that special something. By now, I really enjoy tobacco in fragrances; without it, something would be missing. More than successful & the price/performance ratio is unbeatable.

The Battle
I was made aware of the fragrance by the lovely Leni in a YT video. It is said to resemble Herod, and I definitely wanted to start a comparison. To give you an insight into MY opinion, here are a few comparisons:

Herod: starts significantly more subtle but pleasant, smoother. Tobacco is noticeable from the beginning, great sweetness, not too much, vanilla in the base is already perceptible from the start.

Divine: stronger opening and more synthetic. At first, there is little resemblance to Herod; you have to give it a little time. I don't smell tobacco at the beginning, very subtle over time. It is definitely sweeter; in the background, I can very subtly perceive the clary sage, spices are initially more in the background but become more prominent over time.

In a direct comparison, Herod is definitely the winner. It is simply much better woven, and individual fragrance notes are better highlighted. It starts very subtly, could definitely "scream" a bit more. Towards the end, it gains intensity. The Divine vanilla is also very nice when smelled alone and not in direct comparison, as it performs worse there. It is noticeably more synthetic and slightly piercing in the nose; however, it has more sweetness, which might make it more appealing to the ladies.

I do think, however, that both are really great fragrances & I enjoy wearing both very much. :)

Wow, that was quick..
.. five days ago I smelled it for the first time and I really liked it! After wearing it for two days, it was clear: I HAVE to have it. And now, it’s right in front of me and I’m as happy as a little child, so I will wear it again today, even though the weather absolutely doesn’t fit, because it’s 28 degrees and sunny here. For me, it absolutely fits the cooler season & thus is more than perfect for the upcoming autumn/winter.

About the scent: I get a strong dose of spices and sweet tobacco, combined with the clary sage & the sweetness probably from honey. Only after I read that hay is listed did I smell it again & if you know the scent well (I basically grew up on my grandparents' farm), you recognize it. Frankincense and sandalwood are noticeable.

The description of dry, hot desert wind fits it very well, but it has this wonderful spiciness with a super pleasant sweetness that makes it really more than wearable. I think it has something mysterious, dark about it.. It radiates very well, so H+S can be rated more than "good".

Now I hope it gets cooler soon, so I can wear more than one spray. Test it. :)

My Snuggle Scent
With the current dreary autumn weather, my snuggle scent comes just in time.

God, I was so eager to test this fragrance, as the notes had intrigued me so much. However, since I really don't like marzipan, I was also afraid that it would be too prominent. At first, you definitely perceive an almond/marzipan note. But if you wait it out, you get the most beautiful powdery wild leather note ever. (Like in my beloved "Cuir Beluga | Guerlain") With tonka and vanilla, it becomes such a soul-soother - unbelievably beautiful.

When I wear it, it wraps around me like a warm snuggle blanket, making me want to hug myself. Perfect for snuggling & super sensual, warm, creamy, soft...

By now, it has captured my heart so much that it stands at number 1 on my wish list; how great that I have a birthday coming up soon & can fulfill this wish for myself.
