Better to wear than to test
I have had this fragrance in my collection for over 1 year, but never dared to wear it. Thought the colleagues in the office would ventilate directly when I came in. I liked him directly, but he's very special. Has an extremely strong charisma - boosy, "dirty" and somehow unbearable I thought. Had sprayed him to date only on the wrist and not dared me any further. This morning I picked it up by chance and as it is cool and dirty I thought it was too bad to spray it only on my hand. In my opinion, it develops much more beautifully and "cleanly" on the body. I'm positively surprised. Really a beautiful fragrance. Compliments are less to be expected because it's really not mainstream but you don't feel like you stink or that the environment has to open the window to ventilate. According to this clear buying tip, but in the summer better keep your hands off it, it is too "heavy".

Creed Viking...
...has nothing to do with this fragrance in itself, but I find the two similar in the expectations that are placed on them. The expectations of both are also aroused by the flacons, I think. De Marly has some fragrances in transparent flacons (Darley, Lippizan etc) which fly under the radar just because of the inconspicuous flacon. This red Kalan bottle, as well as the Viking's red signposted bottle, are more likely to attract attention. The Viking is always measured at the Aventus which is actually bullshit. When he appeared the rating was desolate. Meanwhile, the ratings are going up more and more. Right in my eyes. For me, Viking is a uniquely good fragrance that simply takes time. For me personally, the Kalan is the same. I see a great resemblance to Dior Dune, but a little stronger and more individual. He smells a little scratchy and dusty - hard for me to explain. First I read the ratings here and what 0/8/15-estimates expect what you have already smelled 100x similar but far missed. For me the Kalan is a must have and I don't find this new release disappointing.

Love at the 2nd glance
I used the souk here more and more because I see blind purchases from 30 Euro upwards so slowly as senseless. You can't buy a Creed fragrance that you can't get for less than 100 Euro blind unless you don't care about 120-200 Euro. So I received the Royal Water with several bottlings (Souk is really top, those I had to deal with were all absolutely correct, friendly and reliable). First I always read the comments here and get a picture of a scent based on the statements/comments. I often wonder when description and reality don't fit together for me. This was also the case with the Royal Water. Sprayed on the hand - smelled - and thought: Um necessary! That's Creed Number One I don't like. Petty, citric, a little old-fashioned. Not that I have to wash it off, but not as well as I expected. I put him on his side, then. After another test he got better. Most people will know that you just want a fragrance to please you because it's so well rated or in Youtube videos everyone says it's great (e.g. De Marly Layton, De Marly Herod) and you think "What's wrong with me that I don't like it?" These scents are then given several chances while others (Boss, CK, Davidoff etc) are quickly dealt with. With Creed, it's extreme for me. I often thought "Joa's ok but I'll never buy that for the price!" when I first tested it (so happens at Aventus, Viking, Royal Mayfair, SMW, MI, Himalaya, Bois du Portugal) and now I own them because they are all unique (uniquely good) to me at the 2nd glance. Unfortunately I notice that the more Creed, De Marly or other niche fragrances I test, the more of my former favorite fragrances (e.g. Dior Higher, Chanel Egoiste Platinum...) become more and more irrelevant. Not really worse, but less interesting. You get more and more into this obsession and then wonder why someone tells you that you stink when you wear Amouage Reflection while you often get compliments for JPG pour Homme. You don't want that to be true. The Royal Water - to get to the fragrance itself - is not citric/classical like Allure Edition Blanche but rather towards Dior eau Sauvage edt. Think you'll get less good reactions here wearing it. It's more of a classic fragrance for the fragrance freaks like me who are losing sight of the mainstream in the sense of "please everyone" more and more. With that in mind.

Creed again
I wanted to test the Erolfa for a long time because I like the Creed fragrances very much. According to the descriptions here I rather assumed something towards Royal Water, Dior Eau Sauvage or Aqua di Parma Colonia. So I am positively surprised that he rather goes in the direction of Millesime Imperial (or Silver Montain Water). Haven't read (or perhaps also overlooked) this here so far - it's the talk of MI's seborific grandfather but honestly I don't agree. The mMn doesn't smell algae at all. I am not a fragrance analyst even though I claim to know a few things already. It is also not mentioned as the MI's fragrance twin. The fragrance is citric fresh like many Creeds- I can't filter out single notes and it takes a pleasant development into the sweet after about 1 hour. Unfortunately, it is very fleeting and radiates very weakly. Find it still worth buying even if the prices at Creed are as always debatable. I personally haven't smelled a fragrance that smells like Erolfa in the sense of a 1:1 shower twin.
