Not Even Close to Creed GIT
Creed Green Irish Tweed has become my signature scent over the last 6 months or so, and I’ve become very familiar with the nuances of its DNA. I wanted to find a cheaper alternative to extend the lifespan of my favorite scent and everyone sang L’Aventure Knight’s praises but I’m pretty disappointed to be honest.

It’s not a horrible scent or anything, it’s just really not close to Green Irish Tweed. It has a vegetal element to it, but even after the dry-down it’s missing a substantial amount of that familiar DNA, leaving a smell that’s reminiscent of pesticide and grass, and none of that sexy punch you get from Creed.

Sleeper Banger!
I really don’t understand why this one gets so dragged through the mud— it’s one of my favorites in my collection when I want to switch things up to something sweet and sexy.
I think there’s a big misuse of the word “synthetic” these days like some kind of buzzword. Synthetic isn’t at all a bad thing, it’s just referring to accords that don’t exist in nature, as well as keeping scents consistent.
This EDP has a super creamy sweet and peppery smell that seems to last forever and always gets me compliments.
Try it for yourself before listening to angry purists!

Love/Hate Relationship
This is definitely one of Le Labo’s standout fragrances that has gotten a lot of attention over the last few years, and rightfully so.
The name, Thé Noir (French for Black Tea) is exactly what it says it is— a punch in the nose of super fragrant black tea, and a heavy handed dose, in my opinion, of bay leaf and rose. I personally don’t smell much of the fig, but the bay leaf/rose is what sometimes kills this scent for me.
As much as I love the smell of rich black tea, my sensitive nose gets overpowered by some of the other notes in a way that feels a bit powdery/grandma to me. Some days I’m more sensitive to it than others, which is why I have a love/hate relationship with it!
As a unisex fragrance which leans slightly more feminine, I always get compliments wearing, since it’s a less conventional smell for a man to wear.
But sometimes I just can’t get myself to put it on, because the other notes give this 50s old lady “je ne sais quoi” to the point of nausea.
Smell it for yourself and decide, as im more in the minority of those sensitive to it. Overall, if you like those notes, you’ll certainly enjoy it!

Smells Great, Not Life Changing
YSL Y is a really consistent blue fragrance that does exactly what it needs to do. It doesn’t have any huge standout notes that set it apart to make it a big compliment starter, but you’ll always smell good if you wear it out.
I’ve used it for daily errands, date nights, special events, and can always feel confident knowing I smell fresh and clean when wearing it, but again, it’s nothing particularly game-changing.

Definitely in the higher tier of blue fragrances and is a great staple to have in your collection.

A Timeless Classic (and a socialite staple)
For the last decade or so, Santal 33 has been a staple in the socialite scenes of New York City and Los Angeles— a cool kid scent for those who know.
Despite its pretentious associations, I really do believe it to be an undeniably near perfect fragrance.
Immediately intoxicating you with notes of creamy sandalwood and leather, it smells like sitting on an old expensive leather chair in a rich person’s study. The notes of cucumber or dill shine through in a super complimentary way, giving Santal 33 its unique DNA against other sandalwood or leather fragrances.
I’ve never not gotten a compliment or at least a comment when wearing it, as it’s just so appealing.
Hate it or love it, it’s a statement and won’t go unnoticed.
