Not Even Close to Creed GIT
Creed Green Irish Tweed has become my signature scent over the last 6 months or so, and I’ve become very familiar with the nuances of its DNA. I wanted to find a cheaper alternative to extend the lifespan of my favorite scent and everyone sang L’Aventure Knight’s praises but I’m pretty disappointed to be honest.

It’s not a horrible scent or anything, it’s just really not close to Green Irish Tweed. It has a vegetal element to it, but even after the dry-down it’s missing a substantial amount of that familiar DNA, leaving a smell that’s reminiscent of pesticide and grass, and none of that sexy punch you get from Creed.

spring freshness
Blind bought. This smells wonderful. The opening is quite different from GIT. Creed GIT has an opening that smells like freshly cut grass and reminds me of floor cleaning product (not a fan). The opening of L'Aventure Knight is synthetic powdery and lemony, and not particularly pleasant. However, as they dry down, they begin to smell very similar. Both have a very pleasant powdery, clean, marine, and flowery (iris and violet) scent. With 4-6 sprays, it lasts at least 8 hours on my skin.
It's not love, but I like it a lot. My partner described me as smelling like a perfume version of men shower gel. In a good way, of course.

Magic is in the dry down
The harsh opening that some people experience is probably the tea note depending on the oils and type of tea note tea can be take it or leave it (usually leave it) for many people who aren't a fan of those notes in particular. Personally I don't mind it to much but it can give off that overall harsher effect a very sharp herbal or medicinal kind of vibe. If you can bare the opening for the first 15-30 minutes without scrubbing it off this fragrance truly is a very good bang for your buck and all the magic happens in the dry down on this one. It only gets better and better as it sits opening up to be a lovely scent reminiscent to GIT. A very clean Violet and iris come out with the white musk undertone and woody notes supporting the fragrance and you can still pick up on the citrus through out its life very green and refreshing. For the price point the quality on this fragrance is top notch my only qualm would be that the opening can scare some people away but aside from that you really cant go wrong with this one if you are a fan of this style and GIT in particular.

(Side note) If you really don't want to test the waters with this one in fear of that tea note/opening but also don't want to spend creed money on a fragrance check out Armafs Tres Nuit it give the same scent profile a little less accurate overall in terms of quality but without the alarming opening and has a bit of a sweeter take on the DNA but also has a magical dry down that will having you leaning in for another whiff over and over.

My personal Ratings
Scent: 8/10 (This one has some nostalgia for me)
Longevity: 8/10
Projection: 6.75/10 (1-2hrs loud projection becomes a moderate aura with good sillage for the next 3-4hrs ending in a intoxicating skin scent)
Price: 9/10 (In comparison to the OG for what you get)
Overall: 8.5/10 (solid edition to any collection with great quality for the price)

THE Fragrance for 40+ … °C
Man, what a sweat we had in July 2019. Almost every perfume failed after 1-2 hours or was no longer perceptible due to these unbearable temperatures. Officially, it was said, "German Weather Service confirms new heat record: 42.6 degrees, it has never been hotter in Germany."

But what is the best to wear for that?

Fortunately, during these super hot days, the ideal fragrance arrived for me, which has no problems with it. Could it be that 40° summers in the United Arab Emirates are the norm, where Al Haramain is located? It seems so, because L'Aventure Knight handles it effortlessly, yes, it shows them the cold shoulder! Here’s my tip:

2-3 sprays on the T-shirt in the chest area work wonders, as an intensely green sword immediately slices through the oppressive air and delivers a refreshingly cooling hit to the olfactory organ. For younger people who might not know it, this "if it’s too strong, you’re too weak" effect could initially be a bit of a shock, as something in it reminds me of the vintage Cool Water. Although it is always referred to as aquatic, wasn’t this intense power note always more ozonic than aquatic, as we understand the latter TODAY? Anyway, I am thrilled and don’t have an original CW on hand anymore. Yet the similarity of this piercing synthetic note is unmistakable, even if L'Aventure Knight fundamentally smells greener (I am not familiar with Green Irish Tweed yet).

But back to the fragrance itself: at the beginning, the citrus top notes are clearly perceptible and share the ultra-fresh scent impression about equally with the ozone. Then, after about 10-15 minutes, the essence becomes greener and a little earthy. Not really my thing, is that the tea? It might be, but its perceptibility diminishes a bit after about three-quarters of an hour, while the striking dominance of the fragrance also recedes to about half an arm's length. Now this Al Haramain is really great, and after another hour, the musk rounds it off a bit, making it a little softer. Nevertheless, this spritzily bright green freshness peak remains for many hours - less as a scent cloud and more like a sleek boomerang that constantly circles its wearer and zips past their nose again and again. Delightfully fresh, crystal clear, and transparent, while I can only discern a slight spiciness, but no iris, violet, or powdery notes, which is probably better for this fantastic summer hit.

Therefore, I can only warmly ;) recommend L'Aventure Knight, even for layering: just add 1-2 zips and the next summer can come - no matter how sweaty. Because this is

THE fragrance for 40+ … °C

Cool Water, Green Irish Tweed, LAventure Knight Comparison
Well, I've known Cool Water forever; it's a classic. The current batches are not comparable to those from the late 80s to early 90s. Now it's just an everyday cheapie, whereas 30 years ago it was the luxury of a little boy's pocket money, and back then it was the benchmark for me. I don't know what it is or was, but there was something in it back then that made it quite special.

What Cool Water has over the other two is that it is fully accessible at every stage and doesn't have any phases where it seems a little odd, unlike the other two. It is indeed quite present, but if you're looking for a fresh scent that is not just average for a fresh fragrance but lasts up to 6 hours instead of just 4, you won't be happy with Cool Water or will need to reapply.
But after having the other two under my nose, I almost think that the barely sufficient presence applies not only to CW but also to GIT. I am now of the opinion that only the Knight delivers the strongest performance throughout the day.

Now, about the other two candidates. I encountered the Knight before the GIT and actually thought, well, with the price difference, the GIT must be a whole different ballgame, but I was taught otherwise, and it turned out as it usually does with the Creeds for me. High price, big fuss, and in the end, the realization that Creed or the Creeds are not worthless, but not worth all that money. I even speculate that if I had been presented with both blind for the first time, I would have guessed them the wrong way around.

Now to another point that distinguishes them from CW but behaves contrarily when viewed alone. As mentioned, CW is continuously accessible without having phases in its progression that are too synthetic for my taste. Objectively definitely, but still not to my liking.
The Knight is a bit synthetic at first, but that fades over time, and it presents itself extraordinarily beautifully in the end for my taste.
The GIT, on the other hand, initially seems like pure luxury, only to prove too boring as it develops. I also sniffed with my neighbor today and discussed these last two points with her. To confirm my impression, she perceived it exactly the same way, and she is not someone who blindly confirms others' judgments without her own impression.

The biggest flaw of GIT became apparent to me during the evening. The Knight was still fully present, but where did the GIT go? I even go so far as to say that the Knight and GIT are not equally strong, and Cool Water is a bit behind; rather, the Knight clearly holds the top position, and GIT falls back to third place behind Cool Water. If one wants to consider the opinion of the masses as objective compared to the opinion of the individual, I might be wrong, but my personal impression is just that. To confirm my view, I also found in the statements about GIT the voice of a colleague who describes the GIT as too weak in presence. From the lovely CW feeling that the Knight also has, I felt nothing at all with GIT. All in all, I would place CW alongside Knight on a high pedestal, but mercilessly let GIT fall behind. And not just because I might think that GIT must have a performance for the price that surpasses the others by miles; no, even if all three were offered at the same price, I would only buy CW and Knight, while I would mercilessly leave GIT on the shelf.

Now I am curious about your opinions. Whether you will tear me apart or if you might see it a bit like I do.

Addendum:
About the scent itself: It is less cooling, more of a minimal fruity freshness that is rounded off by the tea and the bitter bergamot found in Earl Grey tea, preventing the fruitiness from becoming too cloying. I see the green notes coming from the violet leaf, where again the bitter bergamot and the tea prevent the violet from becoming too floral. This green fruitiness is most noticeable at the beginning but quickly makes way so that the typical Cool Water feeling can join in, but by no means as strong as in Cool Water itself. As mentioned above, it is not as cooling. Overall, for my taste, it remains fairly consistent until the end. I don't really see the woody-dry finish of Cool Water here.

The original always has the bonus of being the firstborn and the name; a dupe, on the other hand, always has to deliver, otherwise no one cares, no matter if the dupe is actually better and also cheaper, which is clearly the case here.

Very fresh scent that keeps you noticing with a sharp green touch blending wonderfully. Works well for any season. GIT clone well made!

Phew, this isn't for me. Herbal, citrusy, 90s aquatic, spicy greenish, and quite overwhelming for me. Cool Water might have been an inspiration.

Also MmN the best interpretation of the vintage GIT! Green, earthy & fresh and hardly aquatic. Performance and price worthy of a knight ;)

Anyone who likes Green Irish Tweed should definitely give this a chance. For the price, it's amazing and in no way worse than its model.

Starts like Persil or Ariel laundry detergent, shortly after it turns into cheap synthetic GIT DNA. Bottle is great, quality is a total flop. GIT nooooo.

An absolutely comparable scent to Creeds GIT - it may lack a bit of depth, but it scores points for longevity and value for money.

Ozone-aquatic summer fresh scent in the style of Cool Water. Feels synthetic to me and is quite loud. Has nerve potential.

Good and green. Greener than CW. CW with parsley in the top note. And more power. Maybe a bit too much parsley for me.

Authentic GIT note with tea in the background, great sillage - you could still smell me in the stairwell minutes later. Top!
